Clear the Air

Sans wasn't laying in bed. He was just sitting on the floor watching you and when you sprung awake he sprung into action sitting beside you on the bed.

"sweetheart! are you ok? what happened?" He asked you in a frantic as he held your hand.

"Sans, don't worry, I woke up for good reason this time, eheh," You said in an attempt to calm him down as you gave his hand a reassuring squeeze.

Sans then sighed out heavily before he spoke again, "oh thank God, (y/n) I am so, so, sorry for the things i said earlier ago. just with the stress of, well, everything that happened in such a short period of time, i-i-i panicked! i really didn't mean to make you cry, sweetheart, please just-" You interrupted his apologetic rambling by planting a kiss on his teeth.

"Sans, Sans, calm down, I'm not mad at you," You said holding his cheekbones with your hands.

"you're... not?" He said thoroughly confused.

"No, of course not Sans, you were just worried about me. I probably would've done the same, honestly. I cried for more than one factor, it wasn't necessarily you that made me cry, Sans," You explained as you caressed his cheekbones with your thumbs in an effort to comfort him.

Sans then deeply sighed out yet again as he basically collapsed in your lap, "thank. God," He said in one big huff making a small smile come onto your face. "you have no idea how guilty i felt, sweetheart," He said now rubbing his face due to the stress of the evening.

"Don't worry, everything will be fine thanks to you, Sans," You said making Sans confused yet again.

"huh?" was simply all he said as he moved his hands off his face. "not trying to be rude or anything since we just cleared up with each other, but will you tell me what actually happened in your sleep before you... died..." Sans said darkly, clearly hating even mentioning it.

"*sighs* Actually yes. I will tell you," You said making Sans open his eyes wide.

"really?" Sans asked seeming genuinely surprised.

"Yes. I'm not an asshole," You said shooting him a glare.

"eheh... sorry, please continue," Sans said wanting you to tell him the truth, or at least to your knowledge... partial truth.

"Well, Sans, to be honest with you I was in this place called 'the void' and I don't know how I got there but it basically fed me information and when I was forced to leave the void all I knew to get out was that I needed an anchor point," Sans looked at you expectantly wanting you to tell him more. To be honest, he looked to be in absolute awe. "At the time I didn't necessarily know what that was so as I was leaving the void, it was as if the void was trying to consume me like it was just taking the life outta me ya know?" You explained making Sans nod his head.

"yeah... i understand... and you say that i saved you, but how did i do that?" he asked you.

"Well, with you shaking me and trying to get me to wake up, I felt that and that alone made me get a grasp on reality and of you, so I was able to pull myself out of the void," you explained to him making him hum in response.

"hm... i see, it's all making sense now," he said as he attempted to make sense out of the situation. "how did you even get to the void though, sweetheart?" Sans asked you, still trying to make sense out of everything.

"That I don't even fully understand," you lied, but you lied good enough to even fool Sans. "All I really know for sure is that the void told me about Frisk, I almost died, and you essentially saved me," You said making him slowly nod his head.

"well thank God i was here, (y/n), i just wish you knew more about how you got there, but there's nothing we can really do about it now i guess," He said pulling himself off of your lap. You then got to gaze into his eyesockets clearly. The underneath of his eye sockets was a dark black as if he hadn't slept in days. You placed your hand on his cheek and gently caressed it with your thumb.

"Aw Sans... have you been up all this time?" You asked him with concern evident in your voice. He just sighed out and nodded in your hands.

"*sigh* yeah, the stress of this all has really worn me down to the bone, heh," Sans joked making you shake your head with the smallest, faintest smile on your face.

"Sans now isn't the time for jokes, I'm worried about you, get some sleep, please," You begged as you moved over on the bed patting the spot beside you.

"i can't, i gotta make sure you're gonna be ok, sweetheart," Sans said making you huff out a response.

"Sans, trust me, I'll be fine," You tried to convince. Sans merely grumbled a little to his stubborn self. "Just sleep for 20 minutes, please?" You asked as you tried to convince him to go back to bed.

"... are you going to sleep with me?" He asked you making you cock a brow.

"Well, if you let me," you said with slight tones of sass.

"alright, just let me know if something happens, ok?" Sans said, making his terms as he crawled into bed next to you.

"Of course," You said as you laid back down on the bed. Sans then wrapped his arms around you, your head underneath his chin as you were pressed against his chest. It felt good being close to Sans right now especially after the long night you've had.

"oh yeah, while you were asleep, frisk, papyrus, and undyne got here. frisk and papyrus are gonna share papyrus's room tonight and undyne took the couch, so don't be afraid if you see undyne in the morning," Sans told you making you hum in response.

"Ok good, is Frisk still up? Also, who's Undyne?" You asked.

"*yawn* i sent the kid to bed... and undyne is the former captain of the royal guard, her and papyrus hated each other but they're good now, plus they burned down her house so that's why she's here. you'll have to ask them for the full story later," Sans said tiredly. It has been a long night.

"Alright, I'm gonna have to have a talk with Frisk tomorrow morning," You said as you thought of a way to go about Frisk, either a punishment or a lecture, both of which suck. "Oh well, goodnight Sans, I love you," You said to Sans before you shut your eyes, hoping and praying for this sleep to have nothing akin to the void involved.

"g'night sweetheart... i love you too..." and with that Sans drifted off to sleep.
