A thick, awkward silence filled the elevator for the entirety of the five minute ride down. Once the elevator opened you all let out a sigh of relief.

However, you were quick to take it back at the sight you saw. The lab seemed untouched for years and was eerily black. "O-Ok, follow me," Alphys said as the clack of her claws on the tiles echoed throughout the halls. Sans proceeded to walk only for you to grip onto his shirt in order to get his attention. He looked down at you and hummed in response in order to ask you what was wrong.

"Sans, I'm not so sure about this anymore," you told him making him stifle a laugh.

"sweetheart, don't tell me you're afraid of the dark?" He said making you blush with embarrassment as you thought of an excuse.

"No, I'm not afraid of the dark. I'm afraid of unfamiliar labs that are really freaking creepy!" You whisper yelled making him hum in response.

"oh, look just don't worry about it. i won't let anything getcha, i'm here for you, remember?" He said as he gave your arm a reassuring squeeze. You just pressed your face into his chest as he proceeded to walk.

"A-Are you two done?" Alphys asked seeming impatient.

"yeah, it's just a little creepy down here," Sans said making you feel even more embarrassed.

"D-Don't worry, y-you'll get used to it," Alphys said making you grow concerned. You took your head out of Sans's chest and looked to Alphys.

"Just how long will I be down here, Alphys?" You asked expressing your growing concerns.

"U-Uh, I-I don't actually know for sure. W-We just need to run m-multiple tests and try to get w-whatever that gunk is o-off your soul," Alphys explained making you nod your head. You then leaned back into Sans as you waited to arrive where ever you were supposed to go.

After a few minutes of what appeared to be aimless walking, you all made it to a room full of beds. They were all messy except for one that had completely turned down sheets and that is where Sans laid you. "O-Ok, Sans, c-can you help me gather some s-supplies for the tests?" Alphys asked Sans to which he looked down at you for your input. You looked around the room and felt shivers run down your spine. You really didn't want Sans to go, but if this was how he could help, you didn't want to stop him. You gave him a nod in response and he patted your head with a reassuring smile on his face.

"i'll be right back, sweetheart. just try not to worry so much, alright?" He asked of you to which you just nodded your head with a small laugh.

"Alright, I'll try not to, just come back soon," you told him.

"of course, i'll come back as soon as i can," he told you making you genuinely smile in response. He and Alphys then left, their footsteps echoing and gradually getting quieter as they walked out of the room to gather supplies.

You tried to do as Sans asked and attempted to remain calm. You rolled over on your side and curled up slightly in order to get comfortable. You then closed your eyes and tried to imagine you were elsewhere as you hummed your favorite song.

After a few moments of trying to remain calm, you felt the blanket shift at your feet. You opened your eyes to see what was happening and you wish you didn't. All you saw was a transparent white arm pulling the blanket up wards towards you. You didn't know what to think. You wanted to scream yet it wasn't causing any harm. It pulled the blanket all the way up stopping just above your shoulders. You could then feel a small pressure on your hair and then it just stopped. Again, you were left utterly confused and concerned for your safety. You chose to just lay in the bed, not wanting to offend whatever it was that covered you up.

You could feel your heart beating heavily in your chest out of fear of what just happened. You then tried to calm yourself down doing the same thing as before as you waited for Sans to come back. You truly felt safer with him around, and in a decrepit place like this, you needed him now more than ever.

After a few more minutes of off key humming, you heard the familiar footsteps that were Sans and Alphys. "Thank God," you said under your breath. You then turned on your side to face the doorway in which they would enter only to scream at the sight you saw and fall off the bed. You saw what must've pulled the blanket up on you. A ghostly white figure just stood hovering over your form. Once you fell to the floor it disappeared. You groaned out an ow as you heard Sans exclaim your name and then rushing footsteps. You picked yourself up and laid down on the bed already done with the shit the day has brought you.

"SANS I'M OK CALM DOWN!" You exclaimed as you rested your hand on your forehead.

"*huff* then don't fucking scream! *puff* you scared the shit outta me," he huffed as he walked in the room holding a bunch of scientific stuff that you knew nothing about.

"S-Sans! Don't run o-off like that!" Alphys said as she rushed in the room with a cart full of stuff, one item on there really peaked your interest, a giant jar.

"well i'm sorry! typically (y/n) doesn't scream, so i thought something was wrong!" Sans said angrily making you frown.

"Sans don't get mad at Alphys for my fright," you told Sans as you shook your head.

"sorry, sweetheart," he said as he put his stuff down on the cart. He then sat at your side on the bed. "but why did you scream?" He asked you with concern.

"Don't laugh at me, but I kid you not, I swear I saw a ghost. It pulled the covers up on me and everything." Sans almost laughed at your statement but Alphys seemed to choke on air. "What?" You asked completely oblivious to Alphys. "Is the lab haunted?" You asked her which made Sans laugh a little bit. "Sans I told you not to laugh!"

"sorry, but sweetheart, you do know there are ghost monsters, right?" Sans said making you groan and roll your eyes as Alphys seemed to be having a battle with herself.

"Ugh, whatever Sans, Alphys is something wrong?" You asked her.

"N-No... U-Uh S-Sans is r-right, a-a ghost monster m-must've been playing a t-trick on y-you," Alphys stuttered a lot more than usual signifying to you that she was lying. However, you didn't pry. Whatever it was, she clearly didn't want to talk about it. Sans appeared to catch on as well though, seeing as he turned to Alphys with furrowed bone brows. "A-Anyway, I-I would like to take a s-small sample of the goo from your soul. J-Just to see what it i-is, then I-I can work from th-there," Alphys said making you nod your head as you sat up.

"Alright, Let's do this I guess."
