Caught In The Moment

I left the school doors still being crowded by people, I tuned them out until I heard a certain someone's voice

"Ryan! I was looking for you everywhere, glad these people follow you or I'd be lost"

I looked up to see David smiling and waving at me, I took my ear buds out and pulled him off to the side where the people wouldn't annoy us

"what's up?"

"I need my jacket back"

"RIGHT, Oh my goodness David I'm so sorry I forgot all about it, I'm so stupid"

"you aren't stupid Ryan, it's fine I almost forgot about it myself until Evan reminded me we have a game tomorrow and I needed it."

we laughed together a little until from the corner of my eye I saw Jon and Luke walking together, David must of seen them too.

"Laugh really loud"

"why?"

"Just do it Ryan"

I started laughing really loud, I saw Luke and Jon look over to me and David, so David's still trying to make Luke jealous, I slowed down my laughing until I just stopped and I felt a little bad for Luke.

"now hug me"

"we don't have to do all that David"

"I just wanna hug"

"fine"

I hug him and I see Luke's face turn a little red with rage and jealousy, does this mean he likes me? I am so confused right now he said he didn't like me and shit and now he does??

"okay kiss me"

"David what?"

My face went red, I don't like David like that! I don't even think he likes guys!!!! 

"revenge Ryan, do it"

I glance over to Luke, he lock eyes, he gives me a small frown I give him a small frown... I don't wanna kiss David, I wanna kiss Luke!

I mouth

'help me'

I don't know if he can read lips or not but he tilted his head like a confused puppy, adorable.

I turned back to David, he leaned in a kissed me.

it lasted longer than I thought it would, he licked my lips in the kiss like he wanted to make out.. it got a little weird I wanted to stop! I tried to push him off but his grip was too strong.. I looked over to Luke and he was already storming over here.

"Fuck off of him David"

David let me go and turned bright red after looking me in the eyes

"I'm sorry Ryan I didn't-"

Luke pushed David away from me further and blocked me

"No Luke it was a mistake David was only-"

Luke turned to me

"David was only what? locking lips with you?"

"trying to make you jealous..."

Luke turned to David and looked like he was about to slap him or cry... I couldn't tell....

"you're sick"

"I wanted to go along with it but it went too far..."

he turned to me again and said nothing, he just sighed and walked away...

"I'm sorry Ryan I got lost in the moment and I thought you were my friend Lui and I-"

"Lui?"

"I mean- No... I"

he took a deep breath

"I'm sorry, just tell Luke it's my fault okay... he can talk to me about this, it's clear he likes you because he cares about you a ton, see you tomorrow... sorry.."

He walked away carrying his jacket over his shoulder... so he does like guys.. but now Luke... AH FUCK this is playing out exactly like a fucking movie! this sucks! I can't just- FUCK how am I gonna talk to Luke now?!

but....

David said Luke likes me, does he really though? he can't not after what he said to me right? what did I do to deserve this shit? NOTHING THAT'S WHAT!

I walked home, but on my way I saw Luke and Jon sitting on a park bench together, Luke looked sad. Jon was holding that photo album I was looking through. I walked a little closer to hear what they were saying.

"remember this? we had such a fun time roller skating, remember when I fell? we laughed like crazy"

Luke didn't reply

"Or-or remember this night? when we trashed your old car by accident? we parked in the wrong spot and some maniac started hitting your car with a baseball bat? remember?"

Luke was silent 

"what about the day we went to the carnival that was in town last year and we got stuck on the fireball upside down? that was fun! right...? Luke talk to me buddy..."

Luke was still silent, his head was down and he looked very upset

"what about that night.. at the party... when I told you I was gay.. you were like a proud mother Luke, where did that happy person go?"

Luke started crying so I walked away, I can't bear it anymore I need to fucking talk to him.
