Jason was gonna say something to Adam when he walked by, but completely ignored Jason and went to his office, Jerome and Mitch following Adam. Cassandra came upstairs too, Jason didn't notice her till he turned around and she gave him a smile.

"Hey." She said.

"Hey, how you doing?" Jason asked. Cassandra stared at him, she lost her smile noticing his eyes are puffy and some tear tracks on his cheeks. She stepped towards him, licking her thumb and wiped the tracks off.

"Have you been crying?" She asked concerned. Jason flinched under her touch, moving away, pushing her hands away.

"No, I'm fine." He lied, he gave her a smile. She didn't return the smile, he moves his hand away when he tried to touch her.

"Are you okay? You've been distant, I'm not bringing you down with my problems am I?" She asked. She saw a flicker of a pain expression in his eyes that disappeared into guilt. She pulled away again when he touched her arms. "Jason—"

"Cassandra," Jason said. Jason looked away. "Stop...please. I don't ask about your past so please stay out of mine."

"Why won't you tell me—" He looked at her, looking mad almost.

"Because why should I? Why should I tell you personal things about myself?" Jason asked.

"Because I have told you personal things, you never tell me anything." She said. Jason looked away, staying quiet for the longest time before he spoke.

'Because there are things that should never be spoken of again." Jason mumbled.

"Tell me how you got your scars on your back." She said. Jason froze, he felt himself starting to tremble. He looked at her, with a slightly horrific look almost, he stepped back.

"I...don't know what you're talking about." He said. Cassandra shakes her head.

"Don't do that, when we came back from Void City, I felt scars on your back. I first thought they were a battle injury, but they aren't. What are they from?" She asked. Jason looked away from her, hesitating. She stepped in front of him, touching his arm gently. He was gonna pull away but found an odd comfort in her touch. Her hand gently slid down his arm, going along his forearm. "I'll stop asking if you just tell me." Jason felt her hand touch him, his cheeks turned rosy red. He pulled his hand away from hers, hiding it behind his back. His eyes look at her.

"Ask something else, anything other than about my scars," Jason said. She thought for a moment.

"What were your parents like?" She asked. Jason looked away.

"Ask something else," Jason said.

"But you--" Jason looked at her.

"Ask something else." He said. He felt himself starting to tremble thinking about his mother, he looked at her. His chest tightening in pressure. "Can you...." Cassandra touched Jason's arm, she could feel him trembling. Her other hand touched his waist making him flinch, they both blushed. Cassandra grabbed his hand, pulling him into the library that was beside them, she pulled him by the table that sat in the middle of the massive room. Jason looked at her, she pulled out two seats.
