Chapter 5
Zero’s house was huge! Well it wasn’t even a house. It was a mansion. It was three stories high, there was a U shaped driveway, and like 15 cars parked in front and around the huge house. There was a huge fountain in the middle of the U shaped driveway. There was also two big trees on either side of his house. There was also trimmed bushes and flowers neatly placed in different sections around the house. Everything was surrounded by a huge elegant cement wall, with a tall gate. I lived in this town mainly my whole life and not once have I seen or heard about this house.
“Whoa…” was all I could say.
“I take it you like it?” Seth asked me as I gawked at his house. As we approached the gate it started to open slowly. We walked through the gate and as we passed Seth and Zero said their hellos to the security guard that was watching the gate. As for me, I just waived hello to the man. We walked up the driveway towards the house, well I didn’t walk since I was still being carried by Seth. When we reached the front door Zero opened it and walked without even looking at me.
We were greeted by a huge marble angel center piece. There were stairs placed on the left side and the right side of the walls. There was also a chandler hanging from the ceiling.
“MOM! DAD! WE’RE HOME!” Seth yelled up the stairs as he helped me off his back. Once on the floor Zero handed me my crutches. I said a soft thank you and turned back to the stairs to see a lady walking down the left staircase and a man walking down the right one. The lady had long black hair that fell down her shoulders and hazel eyes. Her skin was slightly pale and she had light pink lips. She was she a white short sleeved polo shirt and a black skirt that was to short for her age. She was a very slim lady. I was assuming this lady was their mother.
Now the man walking down the man walking down the other set of stairs was something else. He had on a pale grey suit with a black tie, a white dress shirt, and black dress shoes. His hair was brown and was cut short in a I’m-a-business-man type of way. His eyes were a light brown color and showed off all the hardships he’s been through and a glint of happiness. I guess this was their father. When they finished walking down the stairs they met in the middle and linked arms and walked over to us. I couldn’t stop myself from thinking about how well planned their entrance looked.
“Welcome home boys.” their mother said. Then her eyes flashed over to me for a second and then went back over to Seth and Zero. Oh no! I thought to myself. She hates me already? I didn’t even do anything. Hold on Elly, calm down, she probably doesn’t hate you, your just overreacting. Yup! that’s it! I’m just overreacting.
I hope….
“Who’s your friend?” their dad asked cocking his eyebrow. Ok, lets get this straight, I myself have nothing against this man, but the way he was looking at me right now is no way he should be looking at a 17 year old girl. Dude, I don’t even look pretty, does he not see what I am wearing? I probably look like a sideshow clown, but hey what can I say? Whatever floats his boat, floats his boat, right? As long as he keeps his old man hands to himself we will be fine.
“Mom, George, this is Ellyssa. She’s the girl I told you about.” Zero said. What the flip note! He talks about me to his parents! “Ellyssa, this is my mom, Hazel.” he said gesturing to his mom who gave me a small smile and a hug. Ok, good I was overreacting earlier. I thought as I hugged her back awkwardly. I could see a hint of sadness in her eyes as she finally registered who I really was in her mind. Oh lord! What has this boy been telling her about me? “and this is George, my step dad.”
