Chapter 15

    “Wake up monkey butt… come on… Elly…! Ellyssa…! Wake your lazy ass up!”

    My eyes shot open to find Alice smiling in face, she looked like the cat from Alice in Wonderland.

    “What do you want Ally?” I grumbled, hitting her with a pillow for waking me up.

    “Well your… Steve…  is going to be home soon. Soooo, your  mom wants us to live while she talks to him.” 

    “Ok, let me get dressed first.” I really didn’t want to get out of bed today, especially because what happened yesterday, but I suppose I couldn’t stay in bed all day crying over Zero. I had to move on, starting, right now, starting today. I got out of bed and went to my closet. I pulled out my dark blue jean short shorts, my light blue shirt, my knee high white socks, and my black Vans and put them on. I picked up my blue and green Adventure Time back pack and my white hat that was like Finn’s and put them both on as well. I looked into the mirror and made sure everything was right.

    “Alright, I’m ready.” I said turning to look at Alice. The first thing she did when she saw me was laugh. I glared at her, there was nothing funny about what I was wearing.

    “You look so adorable! Your look like Fiona, from Fiona and Kate the only thing off is your hair.” I went back to my dresser and pulled out my Jake hat and placed it on Alice’s head.

    “Ha! Know you’re my sidekick.”

    “Ok.” she giggled. 

    “What time is it?” I said holding out my fist. Alice bumped her fist into mine.

    “Adventure Time!” we both said together. We both decided that we would walk to the park. When we arrived a stopped and looked around, my eyes landed on a very familiar face. It was the same old lady from the hospital.

    “Grandma!” I yelled as I ran to her waving my arms all crazy like. When she noticed it was her I was calling a smile spread across her face. I stopped in front of her and smiled.

    “Hi deary, how have you been? Are you enjoying your legs?”

    “Yes, I love my legs. I’ve been having an off day though. Oh yeah, grandma, this is my friend Alice. Alice this is Grandma.”

    “Nice to meet you, Alice.” Grandma said in a sweet voice.

    “It’s nice to meet you to.” she replied kindly.

    “So why have you been having an off day?” she asked me.

    “Well over the last months I found out that my boyfriend cheated me. My dad really isn’t my dad. My real dad is in jail, and the guy I thought was my real dad is cheating on my mom. That is why I’m having a very off day today, everything seems to be going wrong.”

    “Well dear, everything will get better soon, all you need to know is that you should never give up, and to stay strong because life will always try to bring you down. You just have to learn how to get back up and brush your shoulders off and keep going.” she replied. After that we sat under the evening sun talking about anything and everything until Grandma had to go home. Once Grandma was gone Alice stood up and dusted her pants off, I followed here and got up and dusted off my shorts.

    “Do you want to go on an adventure now, and was that really your grandma?” she wondered.

“No that wasn’t really my grandma, but she’s cool I met her at the hospital. And yeah we can go on an adventure now.”
