As I walked down the streets, I tried to take my mind off of what just happened.. I focused on more happy things besides Cody and his really sweet, but charming, attitude. I remember to focus on memories like the time I went with my friends on a walk in the forest.

Believe it or not, Louisiana is not all swamp. Actually, a lot of it is forest. To us, it's a wonderland filled with adventure. you can hike, climb trees, and hunt. It's all you can do if you're bored and have absolutely nothing to do. Why did we start walking in that forest??

~ beginning of memory~

I was twelve. My red hair was halfway down my back, instead of to my shoulders like it is now. I was a short, little thing. That was when my friends and I started walking in the forest.

"There are ghosts Alaina. I can feel it," my friend Kari said while holding the flashlight on that cold night.

"Oh ok sure," I replied sarcastically.

" There is. I saw one with my own eyes," my other friend Rachel said with her long, black hair flying with the wind.

I sighed disbelieving. We continued to walk until we started hearing twigs snap behind us.

"What was that?" I asked getting a little scared.

" I don't know," they replied.

We continued to walk and suddenly I felt someone grab my shoulder. I screamed, which caused Kari and Rachel to scream as well. I heard laughing behind me, and I turned around to see Kari's brother/my later on ex boyfriend laughing.

" Eric, you're horrible!" I screamed hitting his shoulder.

" I'm sorry Lai. You know I like to home around with you and the girls," Eric said

I rolled my eyes at my nickname he gave me when we met. After that incident, we walked through the forest every Tuesday night.

~ end of memory~

I sighed as I walked through the front door of the penthouse feeling a bit better.

" Maybe he won't be angry or anything. I overdid it," I concluded while setting my coat on the coat rack.
