I wake up to the chirping of birds. I don't move, I lay in the same position as I examine my surrounding. The door to the room opens and I shut my eyes tight.

My mom enters, I recognize her the moment she speaks. I'm guessing that there are two doctors and one nurse along with her.

"Shouldn't we wake her up?" Doctor number 1 says.

"No, she's a heavy sleeper," my mom replies.

I control my self from getting angry, I din't know why but the sight of her made me angry.

"Okay miss, we have done all the examinations needed and I'm sorry to tell, it's hard for him to survive," doctor number two says. My heart beats faster. What's happening? I want to get up, announce that I was awake and wanted to beg them to stop. It was getting hard to listen to.

"Even if he does, he will have to use a wheelchair for the rest of his life," the nurse says.

What? Wheelchair? I couldn't imagine my dad in one.

"Uh I wouldn't like dragging him around in an wheelchair," my mom says.

I wanted to stand up and choke her.

"His upper half is alright but the bottom is burnt badly, almost 50% of it is gone, it's hard for a person with 20% burns to survive, the possibilities of survival is very low," doctor number 1 says.

"Also, it will get complicated if the infection spreads inside, if he vomits please inform us immediately, it is a sign that the infection has started to spread internally," he announces.

Please stop, I can't listen anymore. The tears fall down and I turn slowly to face the other side, away from them. A life without my dad? I couldn't imagine one.

"We will have to change him to an emergency ward if it happens," the doctor number 2 says.

They continue talking but I don't pay attention. I can't. My thoughts are too loud.

They all soon leave the room and I finally wake up. I stare at my dad. He is still sleeping, he soon shifts in his sleep and I move back. His eyes slowly open and he smiles as he sees me.

Someone knocks on the door and I go to open it.

Mr.Kim is here.

"Can I talk to your dad privately?"

I don't complain or answer, I simply move out of the room. The door shuts behind me but I don't leave. I knew eavesdropping was bad but I couldn't stop myself.

"I'll survive, won't I?" I hear my dad speak. A single tear rolls down my cheek. I place my palm on my mouth to stop myself from making any noise.

"You will," Mr.kim says.

"Take care of Jungkook and Jennie if I don't, don't leave them with her. Take them along with you," he says sadly.

"Why din't you file a case?"Mr.Kim asks.

"My children don't know what a life without their father would be, it's gonna be hard on their part. I gave them everything I could when I was alright and without her they would be abandoned, I want them to have someone to call 'family'," he says.

My sobs get louder as I loose control and I rush to the washroom, not ready to listen further.
