"Yea,let's go," I whisper. Jungkook follows me immediately. His eyebrows pulled up together, concentrating on this hard task at hand. We had to leave and today was the perfect day. Mom seemed sound asleep when I last checked on her. Everything was going as planned. We would be free in a few hours. Taehyung was waiting for us. Our train tickets were already booked and we would reach Daegu in a few hours.
Three days back Taehyung's dad had handed me all the documents that I needed, both for admissions the university and school and also the ones that I needed to officially become Jungkook's guardian. I had gotten so excited to leave, no idea why but I needed to leave. Staying in this place only made it worse. I had had several sleepless nights. This place was filled with memories of dad and I knew I wouldn't be able to forget them and I did not want to either.
"Coast clear?" He asks.
I nod. I try my best not to laugh at his stupidness. This felt like a dream. I couldn't control myself from smiling. This din't seem real, it was as though we were playing some sort of a game. Ones played only by kids.
The house was dimly lit and it was quite hard to see things. I move around carefully so as to not to make any noise.
Just as I take a step closer to the exit I hear my mom's bedroom door swing open. My heart starts racing. I look around searching for her. That's it. We had to leave. I hold onto the bag in my hand more strongly.
"Let's go," I say. Jungkook nods.
I open the door to the exit and I don't care about the sounds anymore. Now or never. I move with fast steps and finally reach outside. Once Jungkook is out I shut the door behind me.
"Faster," I shout as I run now. Taehyung was already waiting outside his house, his bag in his hand.
"Uh I think she heard us," I say as I run towards him.
"Oh shit, let's leave," he shouts.
I nod as we now run away from the place. It was happening and I couldn't put my finger on how I was feeling. Excited to start a new life? Happy that I was finally free? Scared that maybe things wouldn't go the way I wanted it to? Afraid that I wouldn't be able to give Jungkook what I had promised him of? I did not know but I ran. With all these questions lingering in my thoughts,I ran. Far away until we stopped at the station.
"Get in," Taehyung says. I took in a deep breath.
'You're a brave girl, you can do it.'
I remind myself. I nod as I get into the train. We roam around searching for our seat and unfortunately Jungkook's seat was about two seats behind us.
"Noona, I'm gonna miss you," Jungkook makes funny faces as he walks to his seat. Taehyung sits on the one beside the aisle and as I try to go in he stands up giving me space but that only results in a very little space left in between us. My heart jumps at the close proximity and I blush scarlet. I look down as I move inside to sit on the seat beside the window.
He sits down immediately. I plug in my earphones and try to put myself to sleep. It was almost four in the morning.
