Cain got back to the dragon who seemed to be asleep, that probably wasn't the case though.
He rushed over to the dragons wounded side and brought out the three herbs he gathered.
From eating them he only got a little information. He didn't get the names but he did get what effect it had on him, they could have other uses or effects so he would have to do more research on the herbs, If he wanted to get into alchemy that is.
The first one had a numbing effect when ground up into a paste. It was a small, fuzzy herb with a round shaped leaf.
The second one was simple, it slightly sped up the healing process. This one was a large leaf similar to that of a banana tree.
The third, and most important, fought infection and lesser curses. It was more of a flower then a herb with small purple flowers sprouting from small vines.
"Alright lets get you healed up." (Cain)
He started with the herb that fought infection and curses. Since he had to chew the plants to get the effect he would have to do the same here.
After chewing it throughly he started to apply the paste to the dragons wound. As soon as the paste touched the dragons wound it's eyes snapped open wide and bloodshot, he roared in pain.
Shit! (Cain)
Cain ducked right as the dragons tail whistled through the air above him.
I know it's bad to be saying this but I'm glad this dragon is almost dead, if not I'd be the dead one. (Cain)
After the dragons "little" outburst he collapsed back into the dirt, breathing ragged.
Alright! I should be able to finish treating its wounds like this. (Cain)
After applying the first herb he used the numbing one for the immense amount of pain the dragon had to be in. Once that was done he got the large banana-like herb that sped up the healing process and used it like a bandaid, not that he can wrap the wound given how big the dragon is. The paste from the other herbs helped keep the leaves in place.
Cain leaned back and sighed. It was almost dark once again, finding the herbs and finding out what they did took up a lot of time.
He decided to eat some of the berries before going to bed. He found himself enjoying the taste of the berry and thought that it was such a waste to be poisonous.
If I didn't gain that skill I wouldn't be able to eat them.... (Cain)
He smiled to himself and got comfy under a nearby tree. After a glance at the dragon he closed his eyes.
I hope I wasn't to late. (Cain)
———
Slowly he opened his large eyes, looking around but not moving his head.
Hmmm (Dragon)
It was deep into the night but he saw that creature from before, it was sleeping against a nearby tree.
Now that he can get a closer look at it, it seemed human with the exception of its long pointed ears. Though lots of demihumans have pointed ears, they aren't elongated. On top of that it, or he by human standards, would be leagues ahead of humans in terms of beauty.
Now that his head was clearer and not bogged down by his lack of energy he could now sense its magic.
It.... is immense.
The dragon was lost for words and only stared for awhile. His mind was filled with confusion. He had never seen a human or demihuman with that amount of magic. Sure some Demihumans had more magic then others but the same could be said about humans. Neither race came close to the natural amount this one had. Even dragons fell short, though not all. Some dragons had been alive for quite some time and had immense magical power. Even then, that magic was cultivated through the years the dragon had been alive.
He suddenly became intrigued by this thing.
He looked at his wound and found it wrapped in some sort of leaf, it still hurt like hell but was much more bearable.
Did these plants have healing properties? (Dragon)
He was always interested in learning about the world or just interesting tales, instead of the other battle-driven dragons. Yet he did not know that these plants could be used in such a way.
He raised his head in thought.
It could be that I never needed to know about such thing since dragons naturally have fast healing? (Dragon)
The dragon found himself smiling slightly, what else could he learn from this thing?
The smiled then turned into something.... more sinister.
"I can't wait." (Dragon)
