Everything went silent, Cain staring at Senga and Senga still looking towards the goddesses presence.
He was shocked at Sengas straightforwardness and blatant threats.
After a few moments of tense silence the goddess spoke in a much colder tone.
[hm... you say you can show me strong? I can tell you are not weak, however that is not the point here anymore.] (goddess)
[only those I reincarnated may participate in this competition as I have said..... and you....] (goddess)
Cain and Senga can both feel when the goddesses attention turns to Cain.
[I did not reincarnate you.] (goddess)
"Wha- but if you didn't then how?" (Cain)
[There are natural reincarnations, you were probably one of them.] (goddess)
She says simply and her focus shifts to Senga once again.
[You are not weak, dragon. However your owner is, even if you hadn't threatened me and this one had been summoned by me I would have disqualified him should he lived.] (goddess)
Senga doesn't respond and just tips his head up slightly in an attempt to look down on the goddess.
[You are lucky that reincarnating these people took a lot of my power or I wouldn't have stopped at just disqualification.] (goddess)
So that is why she didn't retaliate at my threat... however she kept calm as well, perhaps she isn't as simple as I thought (senga)
"Sen, lets just go I would rather not get in any unnecessary fights. Plus she is right, just being disqualified is a pretty light punishment!" (Cain)
He smiled and readied to leave, happy that everything ended with just a few cuts and a broken wrist.
Senga let out a small sigh.
"Of course." (Senga)
With one more disgusted look at Liam, Senga turned to follow Cain out, ensuring no one did the same.
[Hmm... there is another that I did not reincarnate... interesting] (Goddess)
—————
The two left in silence, Cain happy it ended easily and with no deaths.
Senga, however, was agitated though the only tell he showed was the twitching of his tail. His face had his ever present smile.
Cain sighed
"I know you are upset but the two of us are different." (Cain)
He looked at sengas face, on the surface senga remained calm as if he held no emotions, and that used to be true.
"I don't want to cause trouble or kill needlessly." (Cain)
Senga remained silent just staring ahead as they headed back.
Cain smiled and faced forward once more.
"I.... I know you have changed since we first met, even though we couldn't communicate I think I know how you were." (Cain)
Senga squeezed his eyes shut as Cain talked.
You have no idea. (Senga)
Silence came once again and remained until they both felt a presence.
Richard came into view from around some trees.
"The competition over already?" (Cain)
Cain held no ill will but asked, genuinely curious.
Richard gave him a small and sad smile.
"No, however from what I saw I wouldn't be the one to win the competition. There are some monsters competing." (Richard)
His eyes flickered to senga, eyeing his slightly pointed ears and long black tail, it was a black so dark it looked almost like the void. The only thing showing it's form was his sparkling scales.
"So you had tamed the dragon, not killed it like most would." (Richard)
Cain gave him a lopsided smile.
"Tame is a little much...." (Cain)
He looked to the silent dragon at his side but as usual he had the smile suitable of a butler.
He is taking that role pretty serious huh? It's kind of endearing (Cain)
"However you wish to put it, the dragon takes orders from you now." (Richard)
He smiled slightly at the white haired man.
"In the long run that seems like the most beneficial thing to have done, instead of simply killing him. That took guts though, how did you do it exactly?" (Richard)
Cain glanced at the dragon once more, a little uncomfortable with the direction Richard was going. He was also concerned that it would affect Senga in some way, however he gave nothing away with his ever present smile.
"Are you trying to tame a dragon for yourself?" (Cain)
Richard shrugged
"It would be good knowledge to have, I think almost anyone would agree." (Richard)
Fair enough (Cain)
Cain thought back to his interactions with Senga before they bonded.
He was dragged, thrown and had intense bloodlust directed toward him.
Yeahhh I defiantly didn't tame Senga, I can't imagine him taking the knee for anyone. (Cain)
"I'm sorry but I can't help you, as far as I've seen, dragons can't be tamed." (Cain)
Richard raised an eyebrow and crossed his thick arms across his chest.
The elf raised his hands up in surrender.
"I know what your thinking but it's true, I can tell now that I'm bonded to Senga, dragons are arrogant and far superior to humans." (Cain)
He lowered his hands slightly and looked Richard in the eyes.
"Would you bow to someone weaker then you?" (Cain)
The large man sighed and pointed a finger at Cain.
"I get what you mean but how can you say that while having a dragon at your side, looking ready to kill me?" (Richard)
Cains face lit up in surprise, did Senga look ready to kill?
He looked at the dragon slightly behind him, yet his face remains the same as before, pleasant smile in place.
Richard scoffs
"How scary." (Richard)
"Ahh, whatever I doubt I could gain whatever skill you got to form the bond, and without it there is no way I could tame a dragon if they are as you say." (Richard)
With that he left waving a lazy hand in goodbye.
"So what do you think?" (Cain)
His attention turns to Senga.
The dragons lips turned up slightly.
"You are correct in your assessment, and I do not like Richard, if he points at you like that again I will break his fingers." (Senga)
"......... please don't." (Cain)
Cain sighed at the threat.
Hello to anyone who might still be reading this! Not sure if I will continue much on this story, every time I come back to write more it makes me want to restart. The reason is because I'm not the best writer and since I can't write this story quite as I want it can be annoying haha. This also makes it hard to write accurately since I forget what I wrote in previous chapters, and do not what to go back and read them since I would just want to delete and redo it all. Anyways! Thank you for read this far and if I do continue it.
