The dragon didn't sleep after he woke up. Instead he was surprised to find his energy returning.

He watched the thing for awhile then thought about some questions he had.

I wonder why it helped me instead of finishing me off.

Why does it have so much magic?

What kind of magic does it know?

How does it fight?

Why does it have pointed ears?

Why does it trust me not to attack once I'm healed?

Do the ears have a use?

After pondering for a while he blew some smoke out of his nostrils. He was feeling better but now that his energy was returning he found himself restless.

He couldn't wait to see how this thing would entertain him.

———

Cain woke up startled.

"DONT TOUCH ME I HAVE ONE HP!" (Cain)

Eyes wide he looked around the clearing he was in.

"Oh yeah." (Cain)

He saw the dragon with its head up giving him a look Cain couldn't figure out.

"Did I scare him?" (Cain)

He smiled at the thought of the dragon being spooked.

The dragon closed its eyes slightly leaning it's head down to Cain's level and snored, blowing hot air in his face.

Cain stayed still, he kind of enjoyed the warmth. Then dragon pulled back and tilted his head slightly.

"Aw he reminds me of a dog I used to have." (Cain)

Cain grinned slightly and stared off into the distance remembering his previous world, and life.

Once he was finished he decided to check the dragons wounds.

To his surprise the dragon let him go to the bandaged wound, though a intense stare followed.

"It's alright I know you can't understand me but I won't hurt you at this point haha." (Cain)

He didn't have any more of the plants he used the other day so he was just checking the progress.

Cain gently lifted the leaf and looked at the wound. At first he was startled because of the green mixed with blood but he realized it was just from the paste he made.

Jeez I thought it was infected or something (Cain)

He laughed a little at how forgetful that was of him. The wound was healing much faster then he thought it would. He didn't know if dragons in this world had a faster healing process or regeneration or if this dragons wound was cause by something that stopped the dragons natural healing.

Either way it was healing well at this point so he covered it back up.

[Medicine] the ability to make and apply medicine.

He got another skill, was it useful in battle? No. Was he happy to get another skill? Yes.

He figured that any skill or ability he got would add to his strength one way or the other.

Strength does not always mean fighting power after all. (Cain)

Now that the dragon was taken care of he decided to get back on track.

"I know I was hunting for animals or monsters the other day but..." (Cain)

He glanced at the dragon who seemed to be watching his every move.

"I don't know if I can attack and kill something." (Cain)

He wasn't sure if he could bring himself to kill something. It worried him, how was he supposed to get combat skills if he couldn't fight and take down enemies?

"Fight and take down." (Cain)

He pondered for a while and thought that maybe he didn't need to kill a monster to get experience. The whole battle in itself is the experience, who says you need to finish off the opponent?

"Alright!" (Cain)

He jumped up with a fire burning in his eyes.

The dragons eyes widened when Cain jumped all of a sudden. He still wasn't quite well enough to get up yet but he brought himself to a sitting position, interested in what has Cain so excited.

Cain gave the dragon a small smile.

"I guess thats that, It's time for me to continue what I was doing." (Cain)

He was sad to leave the dragon, the first creature he was able to even slightly communicate with.

It hasn't been that long since I've been here though... I've always been alone too, it shouldn't be a big deal (Cain)

The dragon, confused, squinted his eyes and glared at Cain.

———

He was upset that he couldn't understand the things language. It was certainly not the common human language. He wasn't sure what language it was but he was very interested in it and wanted to know more.

The thing gave the dragon a smile, at least that's what he though a human smile was like. Then it said something in its language and started walking away.

Is it leaving? For good? (Dragon)

Of course no animal would be insane enough to stick around a dragon who is gaining back it's energy. Even so he wasn't ready to let it go yet.

———

Cain's feet felt light, almost like he was walking on air.

"Ah" (Cain)

Actually he was walking on air, he looked back to see the dragons massive head and jaw, firmly clamped around his shirt.

"You are going to tear my only clothes I have!" (Cain)

He reached up with his hands and felt huge teeth and scales. He fumbled with the dragons mouth not wanting his shirt to rip.

"Cmon let go!" (Cain)

Finally the dragon let go and Cain dropped the the ground.... in a not so graceful manner.

"Ouch what was all that for?" (Cain)

He turned around to get a better look at the dragon and saw it had its head turned away from him.

"What this? Are you actually acting like you didn't just grab me?" (Cain)

Cain laughed at the dragons behavior how could he not?

"I didn't think you would grow attached to me just because I helped you a little." (Cain)

He gave the dragon a small frown.

"I'm sorry.... I have something I need to do." (Cain)

Plus I feel like if I hang around a dragon I can kiss my one hp goodbye, one sneeze and I'm done for (Cain)

The dragon snorted and then turned its whole body away.

He knew the dragon couldn't understand what he was saying but it was obvious Cain didn't have any plans to stay.

"I'm sure we will meet again, after all you can fly haha." (Cain)

Cain smiled and decided to leave before the dragon tried anything again.

He entered the forest and heard rustling behind him, He didn't want to turn around but he did.

It was the dragon. It was standing now and looked like it was ready to follow Cain.

Cain brought his hand to his face and sighed.
