Present Day, Beyoncé's POV

Today is the day that I will be sitting down with Skai's three possible fathers to tell them about her and ask for a paternity test. To say that I was freaking out would be a ridiculous understatement. Thank God Kelly got here last night and has been talking me off the ledge because I really think without her I would've backed out.

Skai is so excited so that is definitely a huge motivating factor too. I just really hope they all show up. Or at least if two of them show up then we can get the paternity test and if neither of them is her father then I'll know who is.

But part of me is terrified that none of them will show up. I mean would you show up if an ex-girlfriend or one night stand that you haven't seen or spoken to in sixteen years writes you a letter asking to meet for coffee? But the other part of me is terrified that they will show up and then I'll actually have to see them and speak to them. This seems like a real lose-lose situation for me. I guess you could say I should've kept my legs closed back then, but then I wouldn't have Skai, and she's the best thing that's ever happened to me.

Okay you know what, let me stop stalling, it's time for me to go.

I came out of my room to see Skai and Kelly waiting on me.

"Do I look okay?" I asked them nervously.

They both burst out laughing.

"Hey stop that!" I said self-consciously. "What's wrong?"

"Ma why you so extra!" Skai said. "You're going to Starbucks, not New York Fashion Week."

"Trying to impress a certain someone?" Kelly said raising her eyebrows up and down.

"Listen, if you ever have the situation, and I pray you don't, where you have to meet up with three of your exes at the same time, you gotta make sure you look damn good, okurrr?" I said before striking a pose.

"Well mission accomplished! You're gonna freak somebody in that thing, that's for sure." Kelly said. (A/N: Real hive know what that's from.)

"Really?" I asked.

"You look hot, mama." Skai said nodding.

"Thank you," I said smiling, "Now was that so hard?"

"Alright you ready to go?" Kelly asked. I told her to walk me to the Starbucks because I don't trust myself to not just ghost them.

"As ready as I'll ever be," I said, grabbing my keys and my purse.

"Wait, mom," Skai said standing up.

I turned and she came and gave me a big hug. "I know this isn't easy. I know this is the last thing on earth you wanna be doing. But it means so, so much to me. Thank you mom. I love you."

Hearing that reminded me of why I'm putting myself through this. Hearing Skai say that made it all worth it to me. "I'd only do this for you, baby. I love you too."
