Beyoncé's POV
One and a half years later
"Guys, hurry up, these kids are heavy!" Skai called from the bottom of the stairs with 9-month old Marisa on one hip and her twin brother Malcolm on the other hip.
"Well, you should've thought of that before you decided to get sixteen and pregnant with twins," I said grabbing my purse and heading down the stairs.
She rolled her eyes at me, "Mom, that joke is not funny."
"She's right, it's not," Shawn said coming down the stairs behind me.
"Thank you daddy," Skai said smugly before sticking her tongue out at me. I rolled my eyes.
Once Skai and Jayson took the twins to the playground together and they kept getting the side eye from people thinking they were teen parents, so I like to tease her about it. No one else seems to find the joke as funny as I do though, oh well.
And yes, I said twins. As a family, we had a crazy year, but the best kind of crazy. Shawn and I had a whirlwind of an engagement because we decided we wanted to get married on 4/4 (both of our birthdays and Skai's birthday are on the 4th of a month)! That was less than 4 months after we got engaged, and we didn't want to wait a whole other year, so we made it happen. 9 months later, Marisa and Malcolm were born, and now we're a family of five. Skai insisted that she wanted to go to a school where she would be close enough to see her siblings all the time, so she'll be going to NYU and ultimately hopes to become a pediatrician.
I grabbed Marisa and Shawn grabbed Malcolm so we could head out.
"You ready to graduate, baby?" I asked and Skai nodded excitedly.
"Let's go get 'em," Shawn said.

Skai's POV
After walking into the gym for graduation I took my seat next to Jayka.
"Where's your family at?" she asked.
I took a glance around the room until I spotted them and opened my mouth in shock. I I thought it was just going to be my parents, my siblings, and Jayson, but Jayson's mom and siblings were there, and my Aunt Kelly and her family, and my Aunt Solo, Mama Tina and Grandpa Mathew, Mama Gloria, my Aunt Annie, and they all had signs and everything, they were so extra, and I loved them for it.
Tears started to come to my eyes and Jayka reminded me not to cry yet because I have a speech to make soon. I nodded and wiped my tears.
"And now we'll hear from our valedictorian, Ms. Skai Knowles-Carter," they announced.
I stood confidently and walked to the podium as my family cheered and applauded.

Skai's POV
We stopped at home because I wanted to change into something cuter before going to dinner with everyone tonight.
As I touched up my hair and makeup I heard a knock on the door. "Come in!" I answered.
In walked my mom holding a necklace with tears in her eyes.
"I promised I'd wait until tonight before crying," my mom said.
I chuckled and pulled her into a hug, "Mama, do not cry because then you know I'm gonna start to cry."
She smiled as she wiped away her tears. "Look what I just found," she said holding up half of a heart-shaped best friends necklace. "You were 8 years old, and you wanted to get this necklace for us at the mall. I told you that you should give the other half to Jayka but you weren't gonna change your mind - you wanted to give it to me."
"Oh my goodness," I said laughing. "I remember that! Hold on." I went under my bed and pulled out an old jewelry box filled with a bunch of stuff from when I was a kid that I no longer wore but didn't want to throw out. I dug through and pulled out the other half of our matching necklace.
"You still have yours?!" my mom asked excitedly.
"Of course, I'd never throw that out."
"Well, I got you this...that is if you still think it's cool to wear a matching necklace with your mama," she said laughing.
(A/N: Except replace the K and J with S and B lol).
I smiled and put the necklace on, "Mom, I love it. I'll wear it everyday."
My mom smiled as tears came to her eyes. "Baby, I love your father and Marisa and Malcolm more than words can say, but those 16 years when it was just you and me...I wouldn't change that for the world. You're my best friend and I'm gonna miss you so, so much."
I chucked as tears filled my eyes, "I'm just moving a few blocks away, trust I'll be over here more than you want me to be."
"Impossible," she replied as she gave me a hug.
"Alright," I sighed, "Enough sappiness for now, you ready to go eat?"
"Always."
"Let's go!"
The end.
