"OH MY GOD, I swear. I'm gonna off myself." Mina groaned, her already overflowing backpack sitting full on the cafeteria table. Even more papers and books from her previous classes were crammed into every spare and empty space in her binders, notebooks and pockets of the bag and she hated it.

Ned shook his head, too tired and worried to speak but about what, Mina had no idea. He had walked to the trio's lunch table wide eyed and speechless, not even bothering to lay out his packed lunch carefully, like how he had all the previous years but instead just staring at the brown bag in shock.

Peter had whispered to Mina that they'd just come from Mrs. Johnson's AP Biology class and she had shown them what passing grades would look like this year; if they got a grade as low as a B+, they might have to retake normal Biology next semester and take junior AP Biology in their senior year.

Mina now turned to Peter, wondering how on Earth he wasn't cracking under all the sudden pressure of their first day as a junior. He was the definition of unbreakable; taking all AP classes and a neat, tidy backpack that looked heavy, but far more organized than Mina's bag.

Peter noticed her imploring stare and shrugged, cheeks a soft hue of pink and looked at his soda bottle with newfound interest.

Silence overtook their table and Mina looked at both boys and sighed heavily, slamming her hands down on the table to draw their attention.

She watched with bemusment at their automatic reactions. Peter snorted soda out of his nose, grimacing as the fizz burnt his nostrils and Ned made a series of jerking movements, before relaxing and looking at the blue haired girl with his usual peaceful expression.

"Guys. Junior year. Tough, right?" Mina asked and both boys nodded eagerly. "Well, we need to be tougher. Smarter. Strength in numbers, right?" The boys nodded, prompting her to continue. "Which is why, from this day forward, I suggest we form a study group."

Peter glanced questionably at her, while Ned simply stared mutely and the Parker boy opened his mouth to respond when another, foreign voice interrupted him.

"That's a good idea." It stated flatly and the three teens collectively swiveld their heads to where the voice was coming from and they rolled their eyes in unison: Michelle Jones. The curly haired girl was staring at them without interest, her finger marking a spot in her open faced book and her face an expression of absolute boredom.

Mina raised her eyebrows dramatically and leaned forward, closer to the taller girl that sat at the end of their table.

"Gee, Michelle. You have really interesting, valid insight on everything. Why don't you join our study group?"

"Why would I? I'm doing just fine. It's you idiots who can't handle advanced classes."

Mina puffed out her cheeks, her exhausted mind trying to come back with a good retort but she was so tired, the girl had nothing to say. She just sat there with her mouth open, poised to say something, then shut it and turned back to her ham sandwich shamefully. Michelle shook her head, losing interest in the sad group and returning her deadpan gaze back to her heavy and thick book.
