Amberly stuck her head back in for a split second, her brain registering what was happening. Jacen. Dancing with Celeste. Staring into her eyes. Dancing. Her breaths came in short bursts as she ran to her room, plopping down on her bed and locking her door behind her. She wasn't upset, she was confused. All Jacen had done the past few days was hang out with Celeste. With only 5 left in the competition, he was supposed to go out with all the girls. He had been avoiding her, and they hadn't spoken since he told her to be on her best behavior.

"Why can't he just put me out of my misery?" She wondered aloud. Almost instantaneously, she heard a knock at the door. She sat up and grouchily called out, "Who is it?"

The reply was quick. "Jacen."

She stood up and yelled,  "Just a minute!" Quickly brushing her hair, she picked up a few remaining things left on her bed and desk, then touched up her lip gloss and slipped her feet into the shoes she had been wearing earlier. She rushed over to the door, and opened it up to reveal the person waiting behind it, the person who graced her dreams at night and her thoughts during the day. Light streaming through the window across the hall back lit him as he motioned for her to follow him.

The two of them walked a bit, before entering a deserted corridor. They walked down the hallway a bit, before Jacen abruptly stopped.

He pulled out a key, and unlocked the door before them, pulling Amberly in after him. It was dark, and when he turned the lights on, Amberly saw that it was a small parlor type room. He pulled out a chair at the table, and she sat down. He sat down across from her, and sighed.

"I want to start for apologizing for how I've been treating you." He said. "I've been acting as if you were some weird form of a disease.  And I'm sorry. I had been upset with you up until a few hours ago. I was with Celeste when something told me I didn't want to be with her for the rest of my life. I want to be with you." He moved over to her, and stood her up, looking into her eyes.

Then, he kissed her. For a long while, the two of them remained wrapped up in each other, her soft blue eyes staring into his cool greyish blue ones.

She untied his tie, and unbuttoned his shirt. He unbuttoned her dress. With one rip, he pulled it off over her head. They kept kissing. "You are breaking many rules, Miss Jacobs," he said.

"You're the prince. You can just pardon me," Amberly replied breathlessly. He chuckled, and they resume kissing, staying there for a very long time.
