I pushed Jonathan and Nancy out the door. As soon as they were gone I high-fived Mike. I plopped on the couch next to him. I sighed.
"So when will your little friends get here?" I asked. He shrugged and scratched his head.
"Uh probably s-" He was cut off by the sound of knocking at the door. I stood and answered it.
I opened the door to reveal a kid with curly hair, a boy with shorter black hair, Will ( Jonathan's brother), and Billy's sister. The boys all looked to each other and smirked when they saw me. Mike quickly came over and greeted them.
"Uh Dani, this is Dustin, Lucas and Will. My best friends." Mike said introducing me. I nodded shook the hand that was stuck out by Dustin.
"And that's Max." Lucas said friendlily. I nodded.
"So your Dani. We've heard so much about you." Dustin said winking. Mike elbowed him.
"He's kidding. He probably heard Steve talking about you." Mike said rolling his eyes, Steve's name dripping with jealousy. I rolled my eyes.
"Steve should keep my name out his mouth." I mumbled. Mike looked to me.
"Why? What'd he do?! I swear if he hurt you!" Mike growled. I put my hand on his shoulder.
"It's fine Mike, don't worry I can handle him." I smiled to him.

After the kids being in the basement for a half hour, I heard feet coming up the steps. I turned to see who it was and saw Max's red hair. I turned back to the tv. She walked towards my seat quietly. Once she was next to me she spoke.
"Hi." Max said shyly. I looked to her and smiled a small smile. I sat up on the loveseat and moved over allowing her to sit.
"You're Dani right." Max asked. I nodded.
"I'm sorry about what I said when you were with my brother. I was just angry I had to sit in the back." She slightly smiled. I chuckled.
"I understand Max." I said. She nodded.
"Just So you know you were the prettiest girl my brother has brought over. Even after you guys were done, all the girls that came over were kinda ugly." Max said reassuringly. I nodded.
"Well thank you." I said.
"The worse girls were the ones in December. Oh my god her voice was so annoying. And her face! Yuck you are lucky you got away." Max giggled trying to make me laugh. I gave her a fake chuckle and let her go back to the basement.
December was the worse? Who was in December that made it the worse?
