falling for your eyes was just an accident
it should have been an accident
nothing more
what had been staring off into the sky, became staring into each others eyes with the boy who i had met these past six nights, now a seventh.
"I almost died last night at dinner!"
"How come?"
he sat up and made a squaring gesture, as if setting up the scene.
"The table next to us ordered seafood and the smell made me have an allergic reaction!"
"You're allergic to seafood? Me too!"
"What?! That's two things in common!"
sanha laughed and pointed at himself, his eyes sparkling as if what he said was the most delicate and sweet words.
"I could have died yesterday and seen you for the last time ever."
"Oh don't be overdramatic. I have allergic reactions all the time."
he chuckled and leaned his back against the crystal dome of what we considered our own bus stop. he looked at me with an endearing smile and asked,
"Do you have a boyfriend Nari?"
"Yah! What kind of question is that?"
he laughed at my flustered reaction, holding his chest as if it hurt laughing.
"Well he's lucky then!"
"I don't have a boyfriend!"
sanha then looked at me, our eyes instantly staring into each other. he smiled, and i looked away from the embarrassment.
"I have a new dream. To be your boyfriend."
"Geez Sanha, we met seven nights ago and you already want to be my boyfriend. Desperate much?"
i felt bad when he pouted and looked away, staring down at the slippery tiles we had fallen down on our first meeting.
"Isn't weird that we both use to take this same bus and now we suddenly just meet every night?"
"No..? They changed the times of our stops and now they're merged."
he pursed his lips and looked up ahead across the street. he took a deep breath and turned to me with a smile.
"Then what a beautiful coincidence."
for some reason, at that moment, his smile seemed so sad yet his words gave such a happy tone. i took his hand and smiled, staring into his eyes yet again.
"Then chase your dream. Pursue it."
the bus arrived, the motor hissing at our sappy moment, almost mockingly. but i remember how much more happier his smile seemed.
that was the first time i saw him smile with his eyes without laughing.
"I'll do just that, miss."
