wanting you close wasn't a real feeling

it shouldn't have been a real feeling

nothing more

we somehow ended somewhere else, a much warmer place than that faithful bus stop. it wasn't planned, like the rest of our meetings.

"A boy you ran into? Sounds like a cliché movie to me."

"Don't be so mean Eunwoo, he's the nicest guy I've met."

"Was that meant to offend me?"

"Yup!"

my best friend eunwoo had started dating a boy from work and wanted to celebrate with me and offered to take me to eat and later be my ride home.

we always came to this little diner when we went to high school but as we grew older and grew apart a bit, it became a place to visit when we felt nostalgic.

"Nari?"

i knew that voice but i didn't think it'd really be him when i looked up from our booth.

"Sanha!"

he stood up from the counter where he seemed to be sitting with a friend and made his way to my booth, standing over me. he looked over at eunwoo, his shoulder quickly tensing up. maybe he wasn't good with new people.

"Hi, I'm Sanha."

eunwoo turned to me and pointed,

"Who's this?"

i kicked his shin underneath the table, causing him to yelp and hunch over.

"Don't be rude. This is Yoon Sanha, the boy I met at the bus station?"

eunwoo looked up, still wincing in pain as he smirked a little.

"The guy you have a crush on?"

"No! Oh my gosh, he's just messing around. I don't."

sanha chuckled, looking down at his feet as he fidgeted with his hands.

"It's okay. Um, that's my friend Rocky hyung. He's a little shy, so I'm sorry I can't properly introduce you to him."

i looked over as a boy with a serious expression looked over. i waved and his expression quickly changed to a cute smile, his eyebrows lifting as he waved back. i turned to sanha and smiled.

"Well I'm glad to see you. I felt bad for not using the bus today."

sanha looked wary, he kept looking at eunwoo as i spoke, as if he was scared of him. but how could you be scared of such a nice looking guy?

"I'm sorry, I should go back to hyung. I don't want to interrupt your date."

eunwoo was quick to snap up, laughing becoming hysterical.

"Fucki— No! Me and Nari would never! I'm like super gay man! Plus she's a handful."

"Okay Eunwoo, he gets the point. No need to make me look bad."

sanha's lively smile came back on his face. he let go of his own hands and put them inside his pockets. i remember how his friend smiled at seeing the answer from eunwoo, as if he hoped i wasn't on a date either.

"Oh okay, good! I was planning on asking you out soon enough, I wouldn't want to be rejected before even asking."

i blushed but i smiled and owned up to that warm feeling in my stomach.

"I think if you asked I'd say yes."
