but it didn't mean nothing

it didn't stay meaningless

it was more than that

it was weird to arrive at the bus stop to a boy, who was now my boyfriend. twenty days had passed yet i felt so close to the brunet in winter clothes.

i poked fun out how covered he was at such light weather. it was only fifty five degrees and he wore a brown turtleneck underneath a black coat, black jeans to compliment his coat, a bright blue scarf around his neck, and thick, black boots.

"I have sensitive skin!"

"You look cute."

he took my hand and held it tight. i wasn't sure if he was feeling down or if he was just holding my hand so i kept quiet.

sanha dropped his head on my shoulder, his breathing was pretty slow yet uneven. he really must be sensitive to the weather. i hugged his arm close as he hummed to himself.

"Is everything okay Sanha?"

"Yes. Why wouldn't it be?"

"Just checking. That's what girlfriends are for. To check on you."

he laughed to himself, a smile spreading through my face. it felt so long since i had heard his laugh yet it had only been a day.

"Are you okay Nari?"

"Yup, I'm good."

"Good!"

his fingers twitched while intertwined with mine. i put my hand over our hands, making sure he stayed warm.

there was a sudden feeling of doubt. it wasn't mine. it was almost as if sanha's doubt transmitted to me. but it wasn't doubt on us. it was doubt of everything else. what's the point to the rest of it all if it's just us?

but why was he thinking so dark to himself? my dear, what's wrong?

and i wished i had asked, but i didn't. instead, the bus came into view sooner than expected and he was quick to stand.

"I have to go to the station, so I won't board today."

"Alright..."

i hesitated, i remember. i hesitated to ask if he was okay. and i still didn't. this was so weird. this wasn't sanha. this person was way too quiet and too uptight.

"Can I come visit you at the flower shop?"

i smiled, nodding as i took his hand in mine. i could have sworn he flinched. as if he hurt or if he was scared. yet he smiled and quickly took me into his arms, embracing my worries away.

"I'll see you then miss."
