Chapter 9

What was I supposed to do ? I had to go home but Grayson was my ride home.

"Miss alley?" I looked into the nurses direction and she continued
"Would u like us to organise a ride home for you?"
"Yes please" I smiled as she nodded and left the room.

I couldn't stop thinking about yesterday. But I had to. I couldn't get caught up on some pathetic fake love. I had other things to worry about like getting my life back on track.

An hour later
I gathered my things and changed into my clothes my parents had brought for me as I left the room and entered a car parked outside the hospital.

I reached into the bath my parents bought and grabbed my earphones as I plugged them in. Music filled my ears as I stared out the window and I found myself drifting into thought... about Grayson.

"We are here." The driver looked back and I realised how fast the time went."
"Okay Thankyou."
"No problem."

Tye first thing I decide to do when I get home is look for a job. If I'm going to get my life back on track I might as well start with a job. I mean I would be balancing school and a job but at least I would stay distracted.

I scroll through my phone until I hear something hit the door mat. I get up and read the print

Workers needed? And at Annie's diner? Annie's diner was just down the street!
I decided I would go straight down there in the morning.

The next day
My eyes strained at the light seeping through the window and I reached for my phone , instead I picked up the leaflet from yesterday.
Right . Here's to a new start. I get up and get ready to go down into town.

My phone pings and I check it.
"I'm so sorry about the day ago. Please let's meet up for a coffee and talk? Xx"
I ignored it. What makes my mom think she can just suddenly be there for me over coffee.

I jumped on car and drove down to Annie's.

"Hey I saw this poster and I would love to work here!"
"I'll go get Annie!" The lady at the counter smiked as I waited.

"Hello darling what can I do for you?" Annie beamed as I replied,
"I would like a job here please?"
"Ah of course of course ! I assume you have seen the leaflets?"
"Yes I was I wondering when I could get an interview? Sorry to rush I'm just very desperate right now." I look down and wait to here further conversation.
"My dear don't worry about an interview my need workers now ! Your hired." We exchange smiles as she continues.
"Tomorrow?"
"Sure!"
"What's your number I'll exchange the details to you over text ."

Sorry to be so inactive I'm gonna be posting a lot now hopefully and I have a new book I think u will like :) tysm for 200 reads btw ! Comment for an update x
