Toko watched as Byakuya read in the library, thinking his focus was only on the text in front of him.

Oh, how wrong she was.

"How many times do I have to tell you? If you're going to spy on me like a freak... the least you could do is take a shower."

Toko flinched for a second, soon stepping away from the shelf she was behind. "O- Okay Master...! I'll d- do a- a- anything for y- you!" With those words, she ran out of the library.

She then bumped into somebody, causing her to fall on her rear and something to land in front of her feet.

"Ow!" Toko cried, shaking her head and fixing the frames on her face. She looked up to see (Name) rising to his feet, rubbing his head. "H- Hey, watch i- it!"

(Name) didn't appreciate Toko's use of words. "Me watch it? How about you watch it, Toko! God, you don't have to treat anyone who's not Byakuya like... garbage!"

Toko flinched, not expecting anything close to that type of remark. "S- Sorry..."

(Name) only huffed in response, bending down to pick up the book he had dropped. He held it in his arms, mumbling something as he turned on his heel.

Toko's eyes found the cover of the book and her eyes widened. "W- Wait! (Name)...!"

"What?" (Name) retorted, whipping his head around to glare at the literary writer.

She stood up, hesitantly stepping closer to him. "Th- That book you h- have... is it...?"

"The Notebook?" (Name's) tone softened a bit, and he turned his entire body to face Toko. "Yeah... what about it?"

"You a- actually have a c- co- copy of it?!" Toko couldn't contain her excitement now, although her stuttering didn't cease once. "I th- thought they c- couldn't make any c- copies here."

"Yeah, well, my cousin mailed it to me from his country. He knew I was a big fan of romance novels, and it was kind of a way to remember him during my time here." (Name) gave her a small smile, slightly embarrassed at his words. "I take it you like it?"

"I- It's one of my f- favorites...!" Toko blurted. "I- I've always wanted o- one of m- my own copies... b- but—"

"You're the Ultimate Writing Prodigy... and you don't own a book as simple as this?" (Name) looked completely bewildered for a few seconds. "I would've thought you'd have a large collection."

"W- Well, of c- course I d- d- do!" the writer stuttered. "I- It's just that... s- sometimes, I d- don't get the books I a- always want b- because they're so l- limited..."

I suddenly have a newfound respect for her, (Name) told himself. His smile then grew as he held out the book to his classmate. "Okay, Toko... would you like to—?"

"Y- You're letting me k- keep it?" Toko's eyes widened as she reached out for the book, but (Name) quickly pulled it back.

"Toko, are you crazy? No offense. But like I said, my cousin gave it to me for my time here. I'm not giving it away so easily."

The writer sulked back a bit, looking down and fiddling with her fingers. Of course he wouldn't give something so special to me... what was I thinking? She mentally scolded herself for that.

(Name), however, let the book rest at his side and he chuckled. "I was going to ask if you would like to hold onto it until you finish reading it. If it's one of your favorites, I'm sure you'd like to read it again."

Toko couldn't believe his words. Was he being serious?

"A- Are you...?"

"Yes, I am being serious." The (talent) gave her another warm smile as he, once more, held the book out in front of her and allowed the writer to take it. "I'll let you reread it. But just make sure you give it back right when you're done, okay?"

He turned his back to Toko again, smiling as he said his last words, "It's my favorite, too." And (Name) walked away to his room without another word.

Toko blushed as she held the book to her chest, staring as (Name) walked away and back to his dorm. She looked down at the title and couldn't help but smile.

Oh my god.

Toko quickly shuffled back to her room, shutting the door and jumping onto her bed. Forgetting about taking a shower, she opened the pages of the book and immediately began reading.

Maybe not everything is about Mas—Byakuya. Maybe... I should look for different options.

A/N: Okay, I probably should've mentioned this before...

But if you request a character x reader, can you please let me know if the reader is male or female? I don't wanna be that writer that assumes everyone has to be straight.

If you don't let me know, I'll just assume the reader is a girl [whether the character is female or male] because that's the more popular gender for x readers, which is what I did for this one.

ALSO, if OmegaYizz is reading this A/N, and you want me to change the reader to a male, please tell me! I will gladly fix it for you. : )

I will also be adding this in my requests so everyone has a heads up when requesting. Sorry for not noticing my mistake sooner!
