Hiyoko let out a giggle after seeing Kaito getting drenched in water.

"Oh, come on! Not this again!"

"He's so gullible," Kokichi whispered, a hand over his mouth to contain his laughter. The two small students hid behind the kitchen door, almost bursting out.

"Tell me about it! Gosh, he's so whiny, too," Hiyoko agreed.

But due to their voices, which weren't so quiet, Kaito pulled away the door and found the two crouched next to each other, giggles escaping them. He glared, his arms crossed.

"You two are so annoying! Get your shit together and grow up—go on a date or something."

"D- Date?" the dancer screeched, a bit of a blush on her face. "Why would you say that, you fucking ass? I bet you've never even walked on the moon before!"

"Hey, you keep quiet!" Kaito shouted back.

"Fine, fine, we'll leave... I'm tired of hearing him, anyway." Kokichi sighed loudly, grabbing her hand and lifting her up on her feet.

"Yeah... of course you're not in love with each other," the astronaut mumbled.

"Shut up!"

"Hiyoko, let him be. A dumbass like him can't comprehend the relationship we have... we're best friends!" Kokichi told her with a wide smile.

"Yeah, you're right! They're all idiots," she giggled evilly.

The two strut down the hall, finding the other students walking past them. They didn't know how their classes got combined, but they enjoyed each other's company—Kokichi was a master of deceit, and Hiyoko loved that about him.

The two also got along at the fact that they were small, but they never really liked to bring that up.

But it didn't matter their size—their personalities matched, their love for messing around was strong. With each other, their bond was unbreakable.

Now, as the two walked down the hall, students were passing them by pairs, each having something to say about the two.

"Aww... you two are just the cutest!" Tsumugi smiled upon seeing them together. Kaede, who was next to her, laughed a bit and lightly as she agreed.

"Ugh... stop saying that!" Hiyoko snarled, earning no different reaction from the two girls as they walked off giggling.

"You guys are making me sick—get together or something already," Fuyuhiko snapped, walking alongside Peko.

"Young Master... that is not something you should say," the swordswoman mumbled, and soon, the two were also on their way.

Kokichi also got annoyed at the yakuza's remark, but said nothing about that. "Hey, what's up with her and the Young Master? She says that a lot?"

"Oh, that's a long story," Hiyoko answered while crossing her arms.

The small students were content with each other. Just having the other by their side made things a lot better and bearable in the school.

But with all the rumors spreading about them, it kind of bothered the dancer. Her friend hasn't shown any sign of romance with her, and neither has she to him—but she couldn't help but wonder.

He was the perfect liar, after all.

"Hey, Kokichi... between us two, I have a question."

The young dictator turned to face her. "Hm? What is it?"

With a small blush as she looked away, she asked, "Do you like me? Like, do you actually agree with what they're all saying?"

"Nah."

She blinked a few times. "Jeez, you didn't have to be that blunt."

"I didn't mean it in a bad way. I just really appreciate you!" he said.

His arms were behind his head, his usual smile on his face. "Why ruin what we have now? There's no point in trying to become a thing. I mean, best friends don't really kiss each other, but they hug, hang out... what more do you need?"

"Huh... when you put it like that... it actually makes sense," Hiyoko said after thinking for a bit. She then smiled at him. "Yeah! You're right."

And so, she wrapped her arms around him, resting her head on his shoulder. Since she was a lot shorter than the other students and even him, she had to get on her tippy toes.

Kokichi wrapped one arm around her waist, pulling her into him. "See? I don't have to be your boyfriend to do this."

She nodded, letting out a small sigh of delight. "Yeah... you're right."

"Now... what do you say we go get glue to put on Teruteru's floor?"

This made her lift her head. "Oh, definitely! I'm getting tired of that perv, anyway."

With that, the two walked off, cheery and planning their next useless prank.

Seeing them, Rantaro sighed. "Ahah... they sure seem to be denying each other, aren't they?"

Mahiru sighed. "For once, I agree... but let's refrain from bringing it up. I don't want to be the next one on their hit list."
