Kazuichi lifted his head up from the monitor, smiling softly. "Well, Hajime... it's done."

"Everything?" Hajime asked.

The mechanic gave him a nod of confirmation. "Monokuma's locked away in the lodge, we don't have to hear that nonsense about the traitor, all the security cameras are off... in a way, we're free."

"Except we are still on the island, and a lot of us are..." Sonia gulped. "Gone."

The remaining students on Jabberwock Island were Hajime, Chiaki, Fuyuhiko, Kazuichi, Sonia, and Akane—they had planned to get rid of Monokuma once and for all after their most recent death among the group.

Hajime sighed, clenching his fist. "Nagito was awful, but... no one deserves death."

"So we really aren't gonna investigate, huh?" Akane put her hands on her hips. "I obviously agree with him being an ass. Maybe it's for the best."

"I was sick and tired of hearing his hope this and hope that. Who needs to investigate him? For all we know, he could've killed himself," Kazuichi huffed. "I know I'm never going into that room or the factory again."

"But now that we've got everything out of the way... why don't we find a way off this island? I would love to return home," Sonia suggested with a small smile. "I invite you all to my kingdom."

"I can't wait," Kazuichi said with a grin.

"Dumbass... we have to find a way off the island first, you know." Fuyuhiko rolled his eyes—eye.

The four spoke amongst themselves, leaving Chiaki and Hajime alone. The gamer walked up to him, putting a hand on his shoulder. "Hey... are you okay?"

"I feel like (Name) would've really liked this... seeing us all get along." Hajime put on a sad smile. "Finding our freedom and on our way to escape. I wish she could've come with us."

"We've all grown to love each other here—even Nagito... you said so yourself, he didn't deserve death. You may not love him, and trust me, none of us do... but it's a bit empty without him around. I miss (Name) too."

Chiaki rubbed his shoulder and her eyes then caught something on his finger. "Is that... a ring?"

The ring, which was white on the outside and black in the interior, fit his middle finger perfectly. He assumed it was a big coincidence, but was glad for it.

"Huh? Yeah, she gave it to me a while back. She said that..." He took a deep breath, remembering her exact words. "She didn't want to die here, but said a lot of us were stronger than her, so she knew it was inevitable. She wasn't scared."

"So the ring was like a memento," she said. The gamer smiled softly at the thought. "It's no wonder you two were so close."

"I really..." Hajime was afraid to say it—(Name) was gone now, so was there even a point? But he really did care for her, and even if she wasn't present with them, he knew she'd hear him. "I really loved her, Chiaki. I know we've all spent time with each other... and it was a while. But she grew on me."

He felt tears stinging his eyes and he quickly wiped them away. Chiaki, again, put a hand on his shoulder.

"Wherever she is... she needed to hear that. I'm glad you had something from her."

"Thanks." Hajime smiled, sighing a bit. "I'm glad I'm not alone in this, either."

"Alright, you two!" Kazuichi was back to his optimistic self, putting his hands behind his head. "Let's get all this mopey stuff behind us and let's figure out a way off this island!"
