Evolved Angeline

This drawing reminds me a lot of a character I've shown you previously, but it's also new and different. Take a look:

It's almost like an upgrade, no? I think it looks awesome, but there's more to this drawing than just looking pretty. I always imagined Angeline wearing white in accordance with the strong angel motif, but I included the black parts as a sort of symbol: that she's accepted her flaws and the fact that nobody's perfect.
With the staff and her pose, she almost looks like some kind of heroine. In fact, that's part of the inspiration for these next drawings, too!

Here, she's using a net to fish for something in the ocean, or perhaps there's someone to rescue. Maybe it's the same symbolic sea in which she fought her mental battle? I'm not sure about that yet, but I do know that the ocean plays a part since there was the added inspiration of an albatross, a type of seabird. Their wings actually have more black feathers on the edges than Angeline's, but I wanted to retain her angelic appearance. I compensated for that with a bold outline and the black pieces of the outfit. I think it works well together!

But sometimes helping people isn't always easy, and you may not be able to do it by yourself. Maybe Angeline's calling out to a friend to help her pull the heavy net, or maybe she's warning of an approaching storm. Whatever the case, I like this new look!
