Some books call to your heart. They'll leave you breathless, sobbing, numb. Feeling too much and too little all at once. How could words on a page intertwine themselves so closely with your soul? They wind themselves into every tiny crevice, every bit of space you have to give, and hold on tight. When it's over you emerge as if from a dream, not quite sure how to continue on once you leave it behind because you've left a piece of your heart behind with it, embedded in the pages. It's a little hard to find your place again for a minute, at least until the shock's worn off, but you'll get there. And you can always find that missing piece of your heart simply by opening the pages.
