A girl and a boy
in love
(or so they thought)
thinking they were
invincible, untouchable,
unbreakable.But things rarely
go as you plan,
and before they knew it
arguments, mistrust
and paranoia
were their daily companions. When you're running
in circles and
falling ever down
it's easy to get trapped,
and trapped is what
they were.It was no one's fault,
just the wrong match
at the wrong time,
so the arguments and
viscous words were
replaced with silence. And for a while,
they were broken
and she still shivered
when she remembered
his hand on hers,
but it passed. And after a little while
she started noticing
things around her again
instead of being
caught up in her head
all the time. The way he made her laugh
on even the worst days
and brought back
the butterflies
she thought were gone
forever.Maybe this isn't
how she expected
things to go,
but all of a sudden
she can't imagine
anything different.If that's what she
had to go through
to get to this,
she'd do it
all over again
in a h e a r t b e a t .
