She's living in a fallen moonbeam
It seemed to happen overnight
She couldn't remember when it got there
But now it was, and that was alright.
It felt like a friend,
Wrapping her in its silvery embrace,
And it felt so familiar that she didn't mind
When her lungs heaved and her heart raced.
"Everyone hates you"
It whispered in her ear,
"Don't look back at them
Just stay with me, right here.
The world isn't safe
And your house isn't home
But don't worry, with me here
You'll never be alone.
Your friends only lie
At home you'll never be seen
So stay with me safe,
Safe in your moonbeam."
A fallen patch of light,
Bright only in the dark,
Sings it's siren song
And it will leave a mark.
