Tyler ran out of the front garden and almost knocked into Jody who was waiting outside the gate. He didn't stop he just kept running, tears streaming down his face and his heart thumping in his ears. He ran and ran through streets and parks, he just kept going and going until his lungs felt they would burst and his heart felt like it would thump out of his chest. He collapsed onto a bench, his legs aching, barely able to catch his breath. He sat there his body shaking as he sobbed. His mum was.gone, his dad didn't want to know him. He felt so angry with his mum for leaving him all alone in the world and with his dad for not even acknowledging who he was. Everything had changed so quickly, now he was so alone and felt so small and helpless.
Tyler sat watching the world go by. It began to get dark and Tyler started to shiver. He got up wiping his tear stained cheeks on his sleeves and headed back to the DG. He was exhausted by the time he arrived at Ashdene Ridge. He didn't bother going to the kitchen to grab dinner, he started to climb up the stairs.
Tyler where have you been exclaimed Jody running out of the kitchen

I was so worried and I had to lie to Mike and May Li. They think you went out for a run and only left at 5

Tyler barely registered Jody's voice. He just kept walking upstairs

He lay down on his bed, his mind still racing. He glanced across the room and suddenly noticed the Peter pan book on the floor. He recognised the book at once. It had been passed from one dg kid to another over the years, and most recently it had been given to Jody. Puzzled at its sudden appearance in his room, he got up and picked it up off the floor. He lay back down on his bed and started to flick through the pages when a piece of paper fell out and landed on his chest. It was handwritten note, he recognised Jody's untidy scrawl immediately.
He read the note and smiled.
