Chapter 36 - Interruption

Suddenly the conversation was interrupted by May-Li.

Tyler! What on earth is going on? Cried May Li running over with the others not far behind

May Li this is my dad.

Your dad? I didn't even know you had a dad

Neither did I until a couple of weeks ago

Look, I don't want to cause trouble. I'm sure there are procedures and processes to follow. Here's my details, put me in contact with Tyler's social worker or whoever else needs to know. I want to see my son. I'm not gonna lose him again.

Right, OK, well. I'll pass on your details to children's services but I'm not promising anything.

Tyler, it's time to go!

May Li guided Tyler and the others away from the picnic table and marched them straight to the minibus.

We'll talk about this when we get home said May Li grimly

We're sorry. May Li bumped into us and started asking questions and well Alex kinda let slip... Explained Charlie

It's OK replied Tyler. His mind was racing after all that his dad had told him.

As they climbed off the bus Tyler turned to Candi-Rose and Chloe

There's just one thing I want to know. How did you know my dad would be there.

Jody organised it but she was grounded so she couldn't take you to the park herself, it was just by chance we were going to the funfair at the same park and she begged us to take you there.

Once they got inside Tyler and the girls got such a lecture off Mike and May-Li. Mike was furious that Tyler had been put at risk meeting his dad like that.

They were all grounded and given extra chores. Eventually they were allowed to leave.

Extra chores for the whole week groaned Candi-Rose

Sorry girls, I didn't mean for you to get in trouble

It's not your fault. Besides we couldn't turn down the opportunity to give you what we all dream of, being reunited with our families
