The days went by and life at ashdene ridge continued. The same routines, the same arguments, the same jokes and laughter. Tyler was still struggling through each day, it felt like he was wading through mud. Even the simplest things seemed like a marathon. He had no motivation. It was like something had been extinguished in him when his mum had died. His heart had been shattered.and his dad had stomped on whatever was left. He went through the motions each day, did what he was supposed to, said what he was expected to but he wasn't really living, he was existing. He did just enough to keep other people thinking he was OK. Jody kept him going, she was always there to brighten up the darkest moments. She didn't push him to talk about how he felt, she didn't ask awkward questions, she seemed to know exactly what to do to keep him distracted so that his thoughts and feelings didn't overwhelm him.

It was a sunny Saturday morning, the sky was clear and already the temperature was soring. Most of the dg kids were already outside taking advantage of the weather but Tyler was in his room.

Ty, we're having a water fight, iv already bagsied you for my team. Come on. Said Jody cheerily as she burst into his room.

I dunno, i don't really feel like it.

Come on Ty, we can't beat Ryan's team without you insisted jody

Sorry, not today muttered Tyler and rolled over to face the wall.

Jody hated seeing Tyler like this. He was good at keeping up a facade in front of everyone else but with jody he could be himself. Jody contemplated speaking to Mike and may Li, if they realised Tyler wasn't coping as well as they thought maybe that could do something to help. She soon dismissed the idea, tyler would just clam up if Mike or may Li starting asking questions, plus they didn't know Tyler had met his dad or how much of a disaster it had been. There was nothing for it, she was the only one that could help.
