Chapter 9 - Ryan's Scheming

Jody had eventually calmed down and had gone looking for Tyler, she was fed up with the whole situation and was determined to speak to Tyler and sort things out. She had gone to his room but he wasn't there. She went to the living room but no one there had seen him. She carried on into the kitchen, he wasn't there either, she sat down at the table ready to give up. Ryan appeared in the kitchen to get a drink, he was standing at the sink filling his glass with water, when he caught sight of Tyler and Charlie sitting on the bench in the garden. He immediately saw an opportunity to ignite even more drama.

Are you alright Jody? He asked as he finished filling up his glass

I was trying to find Tyler. I wanted to find him and try and sort things out, I hate all this silence and awkwardness. I just want things to go back to normal.

Oh right. I think he's in the garden.

Seems to be getting pretty cosy with Charlie, didn't realise they were that close he added meaningfully

What! Exclaimed Jody

Ryan nodded towards the window and Jody rushed over, just in time to see Charlie and Tyler hug and then get up from the bench. Jody's blood boiled in jealousy. She was his best mate, he was supposed to confide in her, yet here he was getting cosy with Charlie.

Always thought it would be you and Tyler that would end up boyfriend and girlfriend but by the looks of it Charlie has taken his fancy commented Ryan nonchalantly and left the room.

Tyler and Charlie came in through the back door and stopped abruptly when they saw Jody standing by the sink, her face like thunder.

Found yourself a new best mate then she said through gritted teeth

What are you on about Jods ? Responded Tyler confused

Oh sorry, did I get it wrong, is she your new girlfriend

Sorry what? exclaimed Charlie shocked

I saw you two getting cosy outside

We were just talking that's all replied Tyler

You were doing more than just chatting, I saw you hugging

So questioned Tyler

Haven't seen you two that friendly before

Jody stop it. Just stop it. This is silly Tyler and I are just friends.

Looked like a bit more than just friends to me

Oh forget it, I can't deal with this right now. I can't deal with you right now. Iv lost my mum and all you care about is that Im friends with someone other than you. shouted Tyler angrily and walked out

Nice one Jody. Iv just been talking to Tyler trying to sort things between you two and end this craziness and you go and make things even worse.

What exclaimed Jody

I don't know why I bothered

I, I didn't know

You didn't seriously think there was something going on between Tyler and I did you?

Just give him time he's going through a lot right now and acting all jealous like this is only going to make things worse

I'm not jealous

Oh really. Then what's with the third degree over who Tyler is hanging out with and whether he has a girlfriend

I dunno, I just thought...

No you didn't think Jody, that's the problem Charlie sighed and headed off to the living room
