A few weeks passed without any news of Tyler's dad. Mike had promised to let Tyler know as soon as he heard from children's services but he'd warned him it could take months.
Tyler was beginning to lose hope. Some days he wondered if he'd dreamt the whole thing, meeting his dad, finding out he had two half siblings. He'd tried not to think about any of it.
Tyler was in the living room playing pool with Jody, Ryan and Alex. It was Jody's turn to play. She scowled at her pool cue. I need more chalk. She muttered and then looked around for the cube of chalk.
Where's the chalk gone?
Dunno shrugged Ryan
What's this behind your ear grinned Tyler and produced the chalk
Ty! Cried Jody half in annoyance, half laughing
They started to mess about, Tyler holding the chalk high above his head and Jody jumping up to try and get it
Er Tyler can I have a word interrupted Mike
Sure replied Tyler putting down the chalk
In my office
Tyler followed Mike out of the room and into the office.
I have some good news
Really?
Yes. Children's services have been in touch, they have spoken with your dad and after a thorough review have decided that there's no reason at all to stop you having contact. Just supervised visits at first mind, to give you the chance to get to know each other properly.
That's great Mike! When can I can see him?
Well he'd like to meet with you tomorrow. He suggested meeting at the park again.
Cool
