At some point during their whole conversation, you thought they've already forgotten your existence—and you were more than ok with it at times like that, so suddenly hearing your name being called made your heart beat more than its normal pace.

"It's fine, really. A cheater and a snake make a better match", you chuckled. "I'm over that; that's old news! And I'm more than happy that he's out in my life. At least now that I've dropped the sex before marriage thinking, I'm free to explore whatever and whoever I want."

You showed them the most genuine smile you could show. You're ok, more than ok actually—so there's no lie that lies in any of the things you just said.

Before someone could even respond, you beat them to it.
