I had taken a night shift at the dingo. There weren't ever many here at this hour.

The time rolled around to two am and my shift was over. I said bye to Chuck who was also working the night shift, clocked out and right on cue, the rain started. I really just wanted to get home so I started walking.

"Charlie!" Called Chuck.

I turned around.

"Do you need a ride?" He asked.

"Nah, I'll be okay," I said.

"No, you won't," Chuck said. "Come here, I'll drive you home."

I agreed and hung back.

"I just have to wait for the next guy to get here so he can take over my shift," Chuck said. "So I might as well just keep working."

"Do you want some help?" I asked.

"That would be great actually," accepted Chuck.

I put my apron back on over my uniform. I went over to a guy sitting alone at one of the booths.

"Can I help you?" I asked politely.

"You can, miss," said the guy, lifting his head up and revealing his face.

"Oh my god," I said, dropping my notepad in fright.

I bent down to pick it up and felt someone slap my ass.

"Don't touch me," I quickly said.

"Where have you been?" My uncle asked.

"Gone," I said bluntly.

"I miss you around the house," My uncle said.

"I moved out," I told him.

"With that hood boyfriend you have?" My uncle asked.

I ignored the question. "Are you going to order anything?"

"Have you been whoring around?" My uncle asked.

"That's none of your fucking business," I said.

I turned away and he grabbed my wrist.

I pulled back quickly.

"Just one more thing," my uncle said, getting up.

"What is it?" I asked.

"Goodbye, Charlotte," my uncle said before he pulled a gun from his pocket pressed it against his head as he pulled the trigger.

"What the fuck is happening?" Chuck asked, hearing the gunshot and running over.

"My uncle just killed himself," I said, in shock.

Chuck panicked. "I-I need to call nine one one."

I sat down at the booth in shock. I just witnessed a death. It kept replaying in my head and I went into full panic mode when I realized I couldn't stop it replaying in my mind.

"Chuck, do you need any help?" I asked, tears welling in my eyes.

"He was your uncle, I get it. If you've got things to take care of regarding him, go. I'll take care of this," Chuck said.

"Thanks, Chuck," I said, throwing off my apron and running into the rain.

I ran as fast as I could, getting more soaked by the rain every step I took. The events of the past few years replayed in my head. I saw a man shoot himself. I was out cold for weeks and I woke up to find out Johnny was gone, and I never got to say goodbye. I had to take in the shock when I found out that Dally was my brother, I lost my parents and Socs were always giving me shit. My uncle tried to rape me, the day when those girls jumped me in the locker room.
