EDEN-JADE THURLOW

It was Monday morning. Possibly the worst Monday morning I had ever experienced. I had been signed up by no other than Mr Davidson, my grumpy Biology teacher, to help another new kid around the school for the day. He knows just how much I dislike people, so I refuse to believe that he had just coincidentally selected me, his least favourite student.

I waited at the office, a sigh leaving my lips as I looked down the hallway, seeing Luke stood at the lockers by his friends. He laughed loudly with them, all of the girls and some of the boys, watching them with dreamy eyes. Watching Luke, in particular.
However, when Ethan turned the corner of the hallway and noticed Luke beside all of his teammates, I could tell that he were hesitant to approach him. Luckily enough, Luke instantly left his friends to join the boy, giggling about something that I couldn't hear.

If only I could ditch the new kid and tease Ethan for Friday night's events, instead.

I glanced up at the office door when it opened, revealing the lady who worked behind the desk and the new girl. She was quite small, probably around 5'2, with short brown hair that landed at her shoulders. She was pretty, naturally pretty, freckles lining her rosy cheeks.

I expected her to introduce herself, but instead she just stared at me, soon looking down at the ground. It would have made this whole thing a lot easier if she wasn't so shy, but I could cope. I hoped.
" I'm Jade " I told the girl, awaiting a response.
She nodded her head, forcing herself to smile, before her feet lead her straight past me. My eyes followed her as she did so, my body forcing me to go after her, the confusion written all over my face.
" I'm meant to show you around! " I called out, somewhat thankful that she was walking away on her own accord.
I didn't want to have to waste my own time doing this, and I wasn't exactly the type of person that you would put in the orientation video, anyway.

With that, the bell rang, tired yet loud students flooding the halls and into their classrooms. I did just that, except less eagerly, making my way to my Biology class.

I instantly sat down in my usual seat, my eyes glued to the door. Within seconds Ethan had entered the classroom, his cheeks flushing with red when he saw me. They always did. It was almost as if I came into his vision and the flood gates opened on cue, his cheeks burning up. It was cute.

The boy froze for a few long seconds, but he then headed towards his desk, right in front of me. I smirked when his hazel eyes locked with mine, about to speak until he quickly sat down in his seat, completely ignoring my presence. I expected him to turn around and say something, like he usually did, but I got nothing. I didn't like the sight of his back facing towards me, rather than his pretty face.

And it lasted the whole lesson. The bell rang after an hour of silence, and he rushed out.

When Luke joined me at our usual spot on the bleachers, he pulled out his lunch. However, he quickly spotted that the new girl I was meant to be showing around wasn't by my side, and raised a brow.
" Where's new kid number two? " He asked, sitting next to me and biting into his sand-which.
I also had no clue where new kid number one was. Ethan hadn't spoken to me all day, and it was bothering me more than I thought it would have.
I rolled my eyes, resting my chin in the palm of my hand as I explained the new girl scenario to him. It wouldn't last long, it was a short and boring story.
" She literally just walked away and ignored me, rude bitch " I murmured, a laugh escaping Luke's lips as he listened to my words.
" I don't blame her. You're fucking scary "
