EDEN-JADE THURLOWI threw my backpack over my shoulder and walked straight past my brother, not bothering to say goodbye. He'd tried to talk to me, but he punched Ethan, for absolutely no reason. He wasn't getting away with it easily.
I closed my front door and spotted Luke's car parked at the side of the road, a smile growing on my face as I skipped towards it giddily, and slipped into the passengers seat.
" You know, for somebody who probably got fucked last night, you sure as hell are energetic " Luke laughed, only making me groan, shushing him.
" Luke, you haven't gotten laid in months. You seriously need to " I told him, noticing how his cheeks turned a little pinker at the topic.
" Any girls you think are hot? Or that you like? "Luke scoffed at my words, now driving down the road with his eyes focused ahead. He glanced back at me for a short second, realising that I were serious.
" That's not how it works, Jade. I can't just go up to a girl and say hey, you're hot. Have sex with me. I'd look like a douche " He shook his head, making me raise a brow, well aware that in Luke's case, this was far from the truth.
Every girl at Eastfield High loved Luke. Because not only did he have a gorgeous face and body, but he was charming too. He was a gentleman, which was something else that everyone swooned over.
" Trust me, you can. Every girl at our school has probably dreamt about it, once or twice "Luke blushed at this, shaking his head dramatically. However, when he picked apart what I had said and looked over at me for a short second, he smirked.
" Oh, so have you? " He teased, turning back to keep his attention on the road, as he pulled into our school parking lot.
I wasn't even going to lie, I definitely had once or twice. It was hard not to, when you had a hot bestfriend who was always playing football, or unintentionally showing off his body in front of you.
" Probably "Luke laughed at this and we both got out of the car, spotting Mackenzie and Katie almost instantly. They were stood by the entrance, their eyes lighting up even more when they saw us.
I glanced over at Luke to see if he were ready to face them, only to see that he was walking straight towards them, plastering a smile on his face. I was proud of him for not letting his feelings for Mackenzie ruin the blossoming friendship that we all had with her, it was so mature of him.
" We heard what happened, Jade. I'm so sorry " Katie sighed as she looked at me, only making my heart pang at the thought of my mother.
I smiled gently at her, nodding my head as a thanks. However, when I turned to Mackenzie to see that she looked distraught, I folded my lips into a straight line. I didn't even get the chance to speak to her before she had threw her arms around me, hugging me so comfortingly that I hugged back without hesitation. She knew just how horrible it was, she'd seen it all from my family.
" It'll be okay. I promise you "I pulled away from Mackenzie and realised that the pair were standing so close to one another, both of their hands nearly touching. My smile grew larger and I couldn't help but wonder whether they were a thing now.
Before I could even ask, the bell had rang, students flooding past us, nearly knocking me off of my feet. We all started walking to our first class, which was gym. God, I hated gym.
" Do you wanna hang out ton- " Luke tried to ask me before I had felt a pair of hands grip my waist, a high pitched screech leaving my lips.
I turned around to see Ethan and slapped his chest, a laugh leaving both mine and the boy's lips as I received odd looks from the people near us. He'd terrified me, my breathing heavy as my heart rate slowed down again to it's normal pace.
" Ethan! " I groaned, watching the large and toothy grin appear on his face.
Mackenzie and Katie laughed at us, only for me to turn to my side, to see that it was only the four of us now. Luke was nowhere to be seen, and I felt my eyebrows furrow out of confusion.
