EDEN-JADE THURLOW

I sat next to Luke, watching as he styled his hair in the mirror. He quickly began tying his shoe laces, looking back at me with a smirk.
" Remind me why we're going to Grayson's stupid party again? " He asked, clearly not looking forward to the nights events.
I laughed at this, standing up and walking closer to my moody bestfriend. He didn't like Grayson, none of us did. We hardly saw him around school, but when we did, he was always doing something stupid.
" Because I told Ethan we'd be there to keep him company " I smiled a cheesy smile, the boy raising an eyebrow at my questionable attitude.

However, when Luke's jaw dropped suddenly, I grew confused. His eyes were wide in amazement, as if he had figured something out. He knew me too well.
" You've hooked up with him, haven't you? " He started quizzing me, my eyebrows raising.
I mean, we'd made out once or twice. Don't get me wrong, I enjoyed it, but as someone who loves sex, it was killing me not going any further. I didn't know whether he would even want to. Was he even ready for that? He could have been a virgin, for all I knew.
" Define, hooked up " When I said this Luke rolled his eyes, nudging my side.
" We've kissed a few times, that's it " I announced, my bestfriend ignoring my words.
I jumped back onto the bed so that he could see me fully, awaiting the amazing advice that Luke always had to offer. However, he just continued getting ready, spraying himself with his cologne before he looked back at me with an unamused expression on his face. This confirmed that I wasn't going to be getting any advice, today.

" Why didn't you tell me? Did you think you couldn't talk to me about liking him, or something? " Luke suddenly asked me, making my eyebrows furrow.
I had no clue why he was acting so strangely, but I quickly picked up on what he had said.
" Woah, woah, woah.. Who said anything, about liking anyone? " I almost laughed, desperately awaiting a response on his part.
Luke scoffed, walking past me. He headed through his house with me following shortly behind him, like a lost puppy.
" You don't have to, I can see it. It doesn't take a genius, Jade " My bestfriend told me, locking the front door to his parents house as he spoke.

Immediately after this, the two of us began walking to Ethan's house. It wasn't far from Luke's place, only around a five minute walk. I still couldn't drive, or at least afford to learn, and I knew damn well that Luke wanted to have a drink tonight. So, walking it was.

Let the wild night, begin.

RED

When Luke and I arrived at the familiar house, the sound of thumping music filled our ears. It felt and looked completely different than when I was here with just Ethan, when it was much more homely and inviting. Tonight, the whole place smelt of weed, alcohol, and sweaty teenagers. Fun. I could imagine Ethan cringing at the thought of it.

We immediately started looking for Ethan or Katie, knowing that they were here. Katie was so excited about this party, she'd been talking about it all day.

The truth was, I was a little scared to see Ethan. We hadn't spoken about our conversation the other day, where I didn't even answer his question. What were we? I didn't know, and neither did he. I was enjoying it though, far too much, far too soon.

Speak of the devil, Ethan approached Luke and I with some beers in hand, instantly handing one to Luke. Katie was beside him, waving at us excitedly, whilst taking a sip from her red solo cup. The boy's eyes met with mine and it was as if he froze, a small but not genuine smile forming on his lips. He was probably just as weirded out by the whole thing as I was. Or at least I hoped he was.
