SAMs POV********
We all sat down and waited for the doctor to speak.
"Rider got shot with a silver bullet covered in wolfs-vane, it was very close to the heart. We gave him all the blood we could." He paused
"So he'll be ok? Right?" I asked, the doctor frowned and rubbed his eyes tiredly.
"There's something else. Riders heart is weak, he needs a heart to survive."
We all sat there in shock, Rider needs a heart. Tears came down my face, how can we get a heart?
"When can we get a heart?" Dalton asked quickly when none of us spoke.
"Rider needs a Alpha or Beta heart, it needs to be a strong heart. Alphas and Betas naturally have stronger hearts than other wolves. And as soon as possible, I'm afraid he won't last much longer." The doctor said, I put my hands in my face as more tears flew down my face. Everyone was quiet, we were shocked with the news.
"I'll do it." I heard someone say, I looked up and saw Luke.
"What!? Luke no, what about your mate. You have a whole life a head of you." I said, Luke shook his head.
"Ann cheated on me, she's having a pup with another male. And besides.... Rider has a better life, with a mate that cares for him, and a whole pack to take care of. You need Rider more than anything, I want to do this." We all sat there shocked at what Luke said.
"Are you sure Luke? This is what you want?" I asked still not believing in what he just said.
"Yes." He replied before looking at the doctor.
"Can I have 10 minutes to talk to everyone, then we can go into surgery." The doctor nodded and left. Noah and Cheyenne got up and hugged him.
"Are you sure? You don't have to do this." Noah whispered, Luke smiled and nodded.
"We're going to miss you Luke." They said with tears rolling down their faces. After everyone finished saying goodbye and left the room. I was the only one left. Luke wrapped his arms around me hugging me.
"Here." he said and gave me a paper.
"That's for Rider." I nodded and hugged him.
"I love you Luke, you're like a brother to me. Your the best beta any Alpha could ask for." He kissed my forehead.
"I wish you could of watched this baby grow up." I said wiping the tears falling down his face, he let go and looked down at me.
"You're pregnant?" He asked, I nodded my head. He smiled at me and kissed my head again.
"Congratulations, if it's a boy you better pray he doesn't act like Rider did as a kid. He got me into so much trouble growing up." He joked with a small chuckle at the end.
"I bet he did." I smile at him.
"Maybe one day he'll tell you, just whatever you do don't let him go." He tells me, I nod my head.
"I promise." I tell him, he smiles and nods his head. There was a small knock on the door before the doctor came in.
"Are you ready Luke?" He asked, Luke nodded his head and left. I went into the waiting room. No one looked up, no one spoke. We all sat their remembering Luke, tears rolled down my face as I looked at the chair he was sitting at not even 20 minutes ago....

A hour later the doctor came in, we all stood up.
"The surgery went well, he's awake now. All of you can come see him. But you will have to leave soon. He needs his rest." The doctor spoke, we all nodded and followed him. We got into the room, Rider smiled at us. I ran by his side and gently hugged him, he pulled my chin up and kissed me.
"Don't you ever scare me like that again." I warn kissing his head, he chuckles and makes me sit on the bed beside him.
"I'll try not to baby girl." He tells me, I smile and lean into his arm that was on my cheek.
We all talked for a bit before Rider looked at everyone and frowned.
"Where's Luke?" Everyone looked at me, I nodded at them. They all left, Dalton shut the door on the way out. I took a deep breath and looked at Rider.
"Sam? Where is he?" I looked at Rider with tears in my eyes. I moved my hand to his heart and laid it there, I looked at him and gave him a sad smile. I couldn't even speak, my throat to tightened when tears welled up in Rider's eyes once he figured out what I meant.
"No, No Sam. He didn't do it, please tell me he didn't!" Rider broke down in tears, I held him while he cried. I remember the letter he gave me, I pulled it out and opened it in front of us. Rider looked at it and read it out loud.
Dear Rider,
If you're reading this then you know that I'm gone. I did this because I wanted to. You are like a brother to me, more than that. We are brothers, ever since you pushed me out of the swings and broke my arm. I will always be there with you, even if you can't see me. I'll be there. I want you to have children with Sam. I want Sam to kick your ass when you do something stupid because I know you'll do something stupid like always. I want you to make this pack, more than a strong pack. I want you to make this pack a family. Do that for me okay, I love you Rider, I will always be with you. Remember that.

Rider grabbed the note and placed it on the table.
"It's going to be alright Rider." I whispered as he cried himself to sleep, a couple minutes later I drifted of to sleep.
1 Week Later*******
We all sat in the chairs looking down in the hole, the pack waited until Rider was better to come to Luke's funeral. I was holding Riders hand. My mom sat beside me. She came out of her coma 3 days before the funeral.
The funeral was over and everyone has left except for Rider and I. He hasn't smiled or laughed, he just isn't himself. I know it will take time, but for right now I just have to help him through it.
