The next morning I woke up with a horrible headache. So bad I couldn't open my eyes. My side hurt and I found it hard to move out of bed especially since it was so comfortable...

That's when I realized I wasn't in my bed, I was in someone else's.

That's when all the events from last night hit me.

I was almost raped.

But Jace saved me.

Putting two and two together, I noticed I was in Jaces bed. I opened my eyes a slight crack expecting Jace to be sitting on a chair somewhere in the room, but he wasn't.

There wasn't anyone else in the room, I was alone.

I slowly sat up and placed my head in my hands, trying my best to relieve myself of this headache.

I remembered the face of the man who attempted to rape me and Jace holding a gun to his unconscious body. I remember the slight feeling of the sharp blade as the man cut my clothes in half.

I bit my lip as I felt tears start to build up in my eyes.

I would have gotten raped if it wasn't for-

"Looks like someone's awake." That all so familiar voice broke my thoughts. I looked up and tears ran down my cheeks.

There standing in the doorway was Jace, holding a plate of food.

"Hey..." he slowly made his way to the bed and set the plate onto the bedside table, "Don't cry..." he whispered gently bringing me into a hug.

I collapsed into his embrace and cried. Really hard. So hard I started to heave for breaths as Jace comfortingly traced circles on my back.

I cried not only about what happened last night but what happened before that, and all my worries and problems for the future.

"Everything's going to be okay..."

"Sssh... you're safe now..."

"I'm here, no one can hurt you..."

"Breathe..."

Jace kept whispering comforting words into my ear until I finished crying.

I inhaled and exhaled as Jace quietly encouraged me to breathe.

There was a silence and finally he let go of me. Jace looked at my face and bring a hand to my cheek, gently wiping the last tear that was rolling down my face.

"Better?" Jace whispered returning his hand to his side.

I nodded, "Thank you."

"I made you some food." Jace somewhat smiled as he grabbed the plate. There was a waffle so big it took up the whole plate, topped with various fruits.

I accepted the plate and ate the fruit at the top.

Jace stood, "Oh whoops, I forgot to put maple syrup." He left the room and came back shortly with a bottle of Aunt Jemina's maple syrup in hand.

He handed me the maple syrup and I stopped, "Maybe we should eat somewhere else, I don't want this all over your bed."

Jace smiled, "Good idea."

He helped my remove the blankets from myself and that was when I noticed my clothes. They weren't the same ones I was wearing last night. I was wearing an oversized burgundy Champion hoodie with just my underwear on. (And my socks but that didn't really matter).
