There now, steady love, so few come and don't go,

Will you, won't you be the one I'll always know?

When I'm losing my control, the city spins around,

Your the only one who knows, you slow it down.

Look After You by The Fray.

The cabs engine starts and I lean my head on the back of the seat, letting the jet lag set in a bit.

The driver nods his head after I murmur my address to him, I'm going to my own place and my family are probably going to call me to ask when they can visit.

After a while I open my eyes again and see that I'm around the corner from my street, the houses are large and well known people live around here, business owners and stuff.

A house two places down from mine looks polished up a bit more and the lawn is freshly cut, a car is parked in the driveway signalling someone lives there now.

The car comes to a halt causing my head to smash against the chair in front of me since I was leaning forward.

The driver laughs and I manage to let out a chuckle, a fake one of course. "Here ya go mate." I hand him $30, "Keep the change."

"Are you sure sir?"

"It's okay." I look over and see a photo of an old lady on the dashboard. "That your wife?" I ask the old man.

"Yup, that's the Miss. Married twenty-one years we were." He sighs and I see the way he looks at her, with such love.

"I'm sorry." I sigh.

"That's ok pal, she wouldn't want me moping around... what about you, huh? Your girl waiting for you inside?"

I laugh, a real one, the first one in a while. "Nah, it's not like that." I say.

He raises his eyebrows, nodding. I realise how that must have sounded, "No, I'm not gay. I just don't have a girlfriend."

He laughs, "That's ok, a guy like you is sure to have a lady soon."

I smile at him and thank him for the ride and the confidence boost while grabbing my suitcase out of the trunk.

I take the long walk up my drive way and grab the key from the pot plant under the dirt, no one can get in anyway because of the security system.

The door unlocks and I let my suitcase drop on the ground next to me, a beep comes from the answering machine and I go over to check it.

Only three messages, look how popular I am.

I press the button and the voice starts, "Hey Niall, it's your mum incase you forgot your old lady's voice, I hope your going alright, give your mum a call will you? Love you."

I sigh and chuckle, typical mum always worried about me. The beep goes off again and I wait for the next message.

"Yo Horan! It's your mate Payno, just give me a call? I noticed you a bit down the past couple of days and I'm always up for a phone call. See you soon!"

I'm already missing the boys, it's amazing how close we've got after just four years.

Another beep goes off, "How's my cheeky bastard? Give you bro a call will ya? Your nephew misses you!"

I laugh at how Greg didn't even leave his name but I know it was him. Another beep sounds, "You have no more messages." The robotic voice says and I'm left with silence again.
