So what if it hurts me?

So what if I break down?

So what if this world just throws me off the edge,

My feet run out of ground

Today has been pretty laid back, I watched some episodes of Friends, I have the whole ten seasons but I've never found enough time to watch all of them and I still haven't.

I also called my brother, Liam and my mum. Greg said that I will have to come around and visit, I told him I will.

Liam asked how I was doing and I explained to him that I'm fine and that he should relax with his girlfriend.

My mum though, she went on for ages! Saying how she missed me and that I haven't come to Mullingar in a while. I promised that I would visit or that she could visit.

Besides that I put a few loads in the washing machine, went grocery shopping- which I hate - then I made some food.

All while listening to music or having little breaks to play guitar or some other musical instrument in my music room.

It's been nice on my own, all alone.

I don't mind being alone, although sometimes being lonely bothers me.

I wake up earlier today, around eight thirty.

I get changed into simple jeans and T-shirt, thinking about what I should do today.

Yesterday started off pretty strange, it was also quite embarrassing. I look outside my kitchen window and see half the back yard of next door.

The Campbell's live next door, large business man who has tons of money. His daughter is a fan, his son is a soccer player. Spoiled rotten those kids are.

I can see them playing in the backyard together with their dog, the parents on the patio smiling and talking to one another.

It makes me think of my family, I miss them a lot.

It's around nine-thirty now and I decide it's a good idea for a coffee, there is a coffee shop about two blocks from here and I lock the door behind me as I start to walk.

I slide my sunnies on and keep my stare at the ground, trying to not draw attention to myself.

When I look up I see plenty of familiar faces from the neighbourhood, Mr McGregor gives me a smile and a nod, he lives around the corner. I sometimes pick up his paper from the mailbox and take it to his porch so he doesn't have to walk as far or I put his bins out on the curb when needed.

People around here are used to me, they remember I'm famous but don't mob me, it's a nice feeling.

Although when I walk into the main city, it's not as easy.

I skid to a stop and push open the door to the small shop, setting off the sound of bell chimes which are attached to the inside of the glass door. I set my coat on the rack next to a light cream one.

Not many people are in the front of the shop, "Morning Mr Horan, just the usual?" Maree asks.

Maree is a friendly neighbour aswell, her back isn't that good so I help her out too, taking the bins, collecting the paper and sometimes I walk her dog.

"Yes please, to takeaway."

She gets to work right away and I stand over to the side, accidentally bumping a table, "Sorry." I say to the girl sitting there.

She puts her book down, "It's alright." She looks up at me and I see her face.

It's Shannon.

"Hey... it's Shannon, right?" I try to play it cool.

She laughs a little bit, "Yeah, it's Niall right?" Smirking at the end of her question.

I nod. "So what are you up to?" I ask trying to keep up small talk, which I'm not very good at.

"Just come over here to relax, and you?"

"Same reason actually, just had nothing to do." She nods a bit. I hear my order get called. "That's me." I murmur, walking over to the counter

Maree places my cup on the counter, not in a takeaway cup. "Uh... Maree?"

"Go talk to her Niall, I'm tired of seeing you come in here alone, I expected a girl when you came home from this tour." She gives me a small smile.

I look down, "Just ask her about herself and slowly bring up things about yourself."

"Maree, girls like that don't want to talk to guys like me."I whispered, afraid she might hear us. I did want to talk to her, it would be nice to have a friend my age around the neighbourhood.

"Niall, she's gorgeous and your a good looking guy, just ask her about herself."

"Isn't that weird, Maree?"

I can't believe I'm taking girl advice from an old lady that I help.

"It's called getting to know each other Niall."

I give her my money, leaving a generous tip. Shannon has still got her book down and is sipping her drink, she's got a new colour of nail polish but her nails are already chipped.

Her mocha eyes look around the cafe, observing every little thing she can find. She must be a curious one.

Slowly I pick up my mug and walk over to her, "Mind if I sit here?" I ask slowly.

She looks up and I notice her long black eyelashes, they look almost too long to be natural but I can tell the only make up she's wearing is eyeliner and a tad of foundation.

She might also be wearing Chapstick or lip balm but I'm not sure if that's a make up or not, it's not a mans job to know anyway.

"Of course not."
