N I A L L

Shannon smiles at me, her teeth straight and white. I wonder if she had braces aswell?

It's insane how much I want to know about her, I've only known her for about four days and I feel like I've known her for a few weeks maybe even a month.

We begin to walk towards the cinemas, "So, you better not be a popcorn hogger."

I laugh, "So I guess we're sharing our popcorn then?"

"W-well..." She stutters, "I don't have any money on me so your paying, I wouldn't want you to spend so much on me."

"Calm down Shan, we can share if you like." I nudge my shoulder with hers causing her to giggle, it's strange how we talk to each other.

Sometimes it's in a flirtatious manner, sometimes it's just a friendly way. We've covered most topics you could talk about with a friend.

The theatres come into view down the street and I smile. Shannon laughs at my excitement, "You enjoy the movies?"

"Yeah, I love the theatres."

We walk in and have keep the discourse until we are interrupted by a group of three girls, "Could we grab a picture?" One of them says, she's skinny, long hair and a thin waist and looks about my age maybe nineteen, they all look the same.

Maybe there related.

"Sure." The look at Shannon, "Uh, can you take the photo?" One asks, a hint of rudeness in her speech.

"Um, sure." Shannon smiles.

The girls crowd around me and one places a kiss on my cheek, it's an uncomfortable position but I keep still and put on my fake smile for them.

After a click of there phone goes off a few times I break away and pass there phone back to them, they all snicker at Shannon.

I place my hand at the small of her back, "Well, it was nice meeting you." I smile at them and they giggle like little school girls before leaving us finally.

"Sorry, about-" I begin but Shannon cuts me off.

"It's okay, I don't mind." She says, in a hushed tone. We move forward, "What movie are we watching?"

"What do you want to see?"

I look up at my options, a smirk appears on my face when I see the perfect choice. "Paranormal activity five?"

"Sure." Shannon replies, no hesitation at all.

I raise my eyebrows, she's not protesting at all. Keeping her eyes on the snacks in front of her, her stare is set on the M&Ms.

"Next." The guy calls out. It's a teenager and he looks bored as hell.

"Hi, could we get two tickets to paranormal activity five?"

"Sure, that'll be $20.45." Shannon still hasn't spoken up, I pull someone money out of my pocket. With my change we scoot over to the snack bar.

"What do you want?" I ask her politely.

"Whatever your ordering."

I huff at her reply and I know exactly what to order, I don't know if she has noticed but my hand is still on her back.

I don't know why but I keep it there, another girl appears behind the counter. Her stare stays on the cash register, "How can I help you?"

"We'll get a large popcorn, two medium soft drinks-"

"What flavour?" The cashier rudely interrupts in her boring monotone.

I look over at Shannon and wait for her reply, "Creaming soda please." The cashier looks up at the sound of a new voice. I see from the corner of my eye her eyes widen and her jaw drops.
