"Hey, so um." I started, sitting on the edge of my bed. The tv was on, but I wasn't really watching it because it was one of the episodes of Friends I had seen a million times. "What'd you get me for my birthday?"

"No." Tyler responded, his voice very flat. I pouted, picking at a scab on my leg. "I refuse to tell you, just be patient, hoe."

"Ugh, you bitch!" I flung a piece of fuzz across my room, watching it flutter to the ground. "At least tell me where it is and what I need to wear." He sighed, and I could practically see him roll his eyes.

"Nah, I'll be there three hours before we gotta leave, and I am totally picking out your outfit. No complaints, or we aren't going at all. And really, is that any way to speak to your best friend?" He spoke, and I pouted further, nodding my head anyway.

"Yeah, okay. See you tomorrow then, I guess. Bye bye." I waved, even though I knew he couldn't see me. He hung up without saying anything, and I just went back to watching reruns of Friends, as I had been doing before he called me.

Hours passed, and before I knew it, I had to head to practice, although I wanted nothing more than to stay at home and do absolutely nothing. However, it was Friday, which meant that practice wasn't quite as long as it normally would be, lasting only an hour and a half. I was on a rock climbing team, with kids 10 and up, making me just about the oldest one there, aside from Henry.

"I don't really wanna go, but I have to cause it's expensive and i made a commitment," I sang to myself as I gathered my things, changing quickly into my workout clothes. It didn't really matter if I went or not, I just told myself that it did so I wouldn't skip every practice and get fat. I had been on the team for years, so it didn't really matter if I skipped a few practices or not, especially since I had gone to every practice, even if I was sick. I only missed a few times, if I was deathly sick or something more fun was going on.

So, I went to practice. And I climbed my ass off.

The next day came quickly, but despite my eagerness to learn what my present was, I still decided to sleep in until 10. Normally, I would be up at least by 9, but because I had climbed so hard the day before and gone to school, I was even more exhausted than usual.

Tyler called me around 11, and said he would be over by 2, and that I didn't have to do anything to prepare other than wait for his arrival. I told him I needed something to do, but he wasn't being very helpful at all, so I ended the call and turned on my tv, watching Supernatural season 10 for what felt like the millionth time.

After about four episodes, I was extremely bored yet again, and decided to practice some dances. See, I had been into k-pop for about two years, but had never gone to a concert or event, unless you count being in the same airport as Day6 once. I only saw them in passing, and it didn't register that YoungK, or Brian, had smiled and waved at me in my black Day6 hoodie with his name on the shoulder until I got into my taxi, scaring my friend Max in the process (aka me screaming intensely.)

I've never really been into girl groups that much, preferring both the dances and the music of boy groups. There are a few exceptions, of course, like Red Velvet and Blackpink, as well as some Twice songs, but other than that, I never really enjoyed the high-pitched sound of girls singing.

Those two hours passed quite quickly, and before I knew it, I was answering the door for Tyler, sweaty and grinning in excitement. "So? Where are we going?" I asked, but he just shook his head, making his way upstairs to my bedroom. "You dick," I released a groan, but followed him up the stairs nonetheless.

The next thing I knew, my clothes were strewn about my room, looking as though a tornado had blown through and destroyed it. "Okay, wear this," He said, holding up a sweater to my body, holding a pair of jean shorts in his other, making mental notes about something.
