Star Wars the Clone Wars: The Wolf Blood Knight (Fives x OC)

Counter Attack

We were continuing on our way to find an escape to get to the shuttle. We had to shimmy along the trail against the wall in single file. I look at my comrades and a few of Piell's clones were holding their midsections in pain. I look at my men closest to them and hand signal them to help their brothers. They nod and help support their brothers so their pain would lessen.

"R2, R5,  are you and your battle droids ready to go?" Anakin commlinks our astromechs, getting beeps and whistles in return.

"Alright, get the ship fired up. We'll meet you at the pipeline exit after you've picked up Obi-Wan. Assuming he's still on schedule." he says before shutting it off and I snicker. We continue on our way but I stay as far away from Tarkin as I can.

"How do you know we're not the ones that are running behind?" I ask as we keep going and Anakin scoffs.

"Please. If anything, we're ahead of schedule." he replies as he rolls his eyes.

"I'm just saying. Keep your eyes open for probe droids, they might send on down here just to be safe and we don't want them to cross paths with us." I say with a chuckle.

"How about you keep focus on your position and I'll handle my position, ok Vetera?" he asks.

"Someone's touchy today." I mutter under my breath.

"Could you please stop talking? I'm getting tired of all the unnecessary chatter!" Tarkin says snidely and I glare at him.

'Why did he have to be the one with the other half of the coordinates?' I think as I roll my eyes angrily. Hopefully this terrible mission will be over sooner rather than later.

We continue through the cavern in silence, Ahsoka was scouting a bit ahead and I was starting to wish I was with them, instead of here with Tarkin. They motion for the rest of us to follow and I turn to see if Anakin was holding up alright, but he was gone! I began to panic a little, until I felt his Force signature and I breathe a sigh of relief that he was ok at least. I look up slightly in time to see him slice a probe droid before it could see our party. He sheathes his saber and smiles at me, I smile back and we keep going but I had my hands on two of my sabers. This mission was grating on my nerves and making me uneasy.

"I am beginning to admire the design of this fortress. It's rather formidable to evade." Tarkin says as he gets in front of the Padawan.

"How can you admire such a horrible place?" Ahsoka asks.

"You reveal your shortsightedness. This ordeal only demonstrates how effective facilities like the Citadel are. Pity it ended up in Separatist hands and not ours." Tarkin says as he continues forward.

"He has a point." Anakin says, making Ahsoka looks at him shocked.

"Alright Snips, I need you to lead the group, keep following the tunnel. I'll catch up." Anakin says before he turns to go.

"Hey, where are you going?" Ahsoka asks.

"Obi-Wan's not here." I remind her.

"So someone has to protect our flank." Anakin agrees with me and I smirk.

"I guess it's a good thing I came along after all." Ahsoka says. We keep going, I felt a bit better knowing Anakin was protecting our flank.

"Alright, Snips, to the front." I say, pushing her forward playfully and she smile playfully before doing so. I sigh softly, before smiling with the pride of a big sister as we continue.
