Vetera's POV
We were almost to Kiros, but I felt uneasy and so did the wolf inside me. I was standing beside Anakin and Obi-Wan.
"All clear, sir." Krux reports and I nod to him.
"There are no Separatist craft in the system." Cruiser agrees.
"It's been ten rotations since Master Yoda's last transmission." I say as Anakin and I turn to Obi-Wan and Krux as they were walking away.
"I just hope we're not too late." Anakin agrees with me.
"Rex, take us down." Obi-Wan says to Rex.
"Yes, sir!" Rex says, before Krux, Cruiser and I head to the hanger, getting ready with the 125th. We get our gear ready before heading to the gunships. I keep looking for Blaster before I remember and I lower my head slightly. I keep forgetting that he's gone, I keep expecting him to be running like a child on a sugar rush to the gunships for battle and then telling the rest of us to hurry up. But I could always count on him to have our backs when things got serious. I miss him, I shake my head to clear those thoughts from my head as I feel the ships beginning to leave the hanger. Krux and I get on the two speeders in our gunships, before said ships land and we ride out, joining Anakin and Ahsoka, Obi-Wan, Cruiser and Rex, I roll my eyes under my helmet while Krux shakes his head.
"Is it just me or is it too quiet?" I ask Krux as I look at him.
"Too quiet." he agrees with me and I nod.
"I haven't seen any colonists!" Ahsoka agrees with him.
"They're probably hiding." Anakin says.
"Let's hope they stay hidden. It makes our job easier if we don't have to worry about them in battle." Obi-Wan says as he pulls up alongside us.
"I don't like it. The clankers have never been shy about using civvies as shields." Rex says.
"Too true." Krux, Cruiser and I chorus.
"I'm sure they're here somewhere. Let's make for the city center!" Anakin says before we pick up speed to get there. We keep heading there, before we see Commando Droids on speeders ahead of us!
"Biker droids! *removes her goggles for a better look* Dead ahead!" Ahsoka says.
"We see them Commander Tano!" Krux says.
"Squad tighten up!" I order the men riding behind us.
"Form up on Vetera and I!" Anakin orders in agreement. The droids and us begin firing at each other as we speed toward each other, taking a few of each other out with the speeders' blasters. Ahsoka draws both her shoto lightsaber and her main saber, deflecting shots. Anakin, Krux and I draw our own sabers, cutting droids and their speeders down. We turn our heads to watch the crashes with smirks on our faces. Ahsoka, Cruiser and Krux turn their seats around and fire at the droids who were now chasing us. Rex does the same, before Ahsoka jumps onto a droid speeder that had pulled up alongside her and Anakin, landing behind the droid and cutting off its head. She then jumps back to her seat and sees we're all clear.
"We're all clear, Master." she reports, Krux nods in agreement and I smirk before we continue to the city center and we see battle droids!
"Fire!" i call, before we fire at the battle droids. Rex uses a bazooka to take out one of the tanks, before Krux and Ahsoka take grenades and jump to the other two tanks. They throw the grenades inside, before they jump back onto the speeders and we turn in order to see the tanks blow up. Krux, Ahsoka and I smirk as i high five Krux and Cruiser.
"Captain, have your men secure the area." Obi-Wan orders Captain Rex who nods and gets the men to do so.
