Vetera's POV
I was walking between Obi-Wan and Anakin as we exit the cafe to head back to the Jedi Temple, and see why the Council had called us. I look at my friends as we walk.
"So what's the big rush?" Anakin asks Obi-Wan as we continue to walk.
"The Jedi Council has called an emergency meeting." Obi-Wan replies, making both Anakin and i sigh with me shaking my head.
"I can see it now." I say as i shake my head a little.
"Another long, boring debate." Anakin agrees.
"Would you rather they call you in to train Younglings?" Ahsoka teases the two of us, making the both of us chuckle.
"Are you crazy?" Anakin asks her as he smiles.
"I may be good at calming the Younglings during storms, but training? No way!" I agree with Anakin, before a blaster shot barely misses us!
"Whoa! Take cover!" i yell as we take cover from any further shots, said shots hitting the ground and the crates we had taken cover behind. I growl lowly, feeling my teeth sharpen.
"Any ideas where that shot came from?" Obi-Wan asks, i peek around the crates i was behind and Ahsoka does the same. I see the sniper on the roof and look at Ahsoka to see if she saw him too, she nods to signal me that she did.
"A sniper!" I reply to Obi-Wan's question as she and i look at the sniper.
"We see him up there!" she agrees as she points the sniper out to us. Obi-Wan flinches as a blast hit a crate near him and that shot had almost hit him!
"Alright, here's the plan! Anakin, you flank him on the right! Vetera, you flank him on the left!" Obi-Wan says and Anakin nods to show he understood.
"Got it!" I say as i nod in agreement to my part of the plan.
"Ahsoka, you cover the lower streets! *Ahsoka nods in understanding of her part* I'm going after him." Obi-Wan finishes telling us the plan and we nod, turning on our sabers before we get moving to get to the roofs and streets. Obi-Wan, Anakin and i use the ledges to leap to the rooftops, we each take cover and look for the sniper. But as soon as we did, the sniper shot at Obi-Wan first, than Anakin and then me, making us duck behind our cover. The sniper begins to run and Anakin and i give chase, and if there's one thing the wolf in me loves, it's a good hunt. But then i lose sight of him and sniff for him, but no scent. He must be downwind so I can't smell him!
"I lost him! Anakin, anything?" I commlink in.
"I lost him too, Vetera! Obi-Wan, do you have anything?!" Anakin commlinks in reply, but we got no response from Obi-Wan. But then i hear a blaster shot and Obi-Wan yelling in pain, my head snapping in his direction in time to see him fall to the streets! Anakin and i run to the edge of the rooftops to look down at him in worry.
"OBI-WAN!!" we yell down in worry, but we got no answer from him.
"I got him, go!" she says and i nod, going to my Loth-Wolf form and running, Anakin joining me and i feel him land on my back as i leap the large gap to the next rooftop and beginning to chase the sniper. But the sniper got on a speeder, as he drives and dropped a smoke bomb, making me cough as i come to a stop and rub my eyes with my paw. But i caught no scent of him because of the smoke and i didn't see him either, making me growl angrily. But i knew he could wait, we had to check on Obi-Wan! I begin running back as fast as my four paws can carry me and use the ledges to jump down to street level before running up to Ahsoka, who was holding Obi-Wan.
"How is he?" Anakin asks in worry as he gets off of my back and steps closer, he and i both hoping that his old master was ok. Ahsoka looks at us with her tear-filled eyes and we knew Obi-Wan was gone.
