Friends and Enemies

Vetera's POV

It had been a day or two since we had put Hardeen in jail. I had told Boba yesterday what Hardeen had done when I went to visit Boba and he had promised he would be careful around Hardeen. I was sparring with Ralim, we were both practicing our lightsaber combat skills and i have to admit, Ralim is very skilled in lightsaber combat for his age. I was starting to have fun before Anakin comes in and was heading right for me. And his expression looks almost murderous and that's not good. Something really bad involving Hardeen must have happened.

"Ralim, go get a drink while I talk with Anakin." I say to Ralim as we get out of our current blade lock.

"Yes Master." Ralim pants as he goes to get a drink of water. I turn to Anakin as he walks up to me.

"Anakin, what's wrong, what has happened?" I ask Anakin as I turn off my sabers and put them on my belt.

"Hardeen has escaped prison with Cad Bane and Moralo Eval." He says and I get angry.

"What?! How did that happen?!" I ask as I try to calm myself so I won't frighten my Padawan.

"I do not know, but I'm going to go to the Chancellor to find out." He replies and I nod.

"Then I'm coming with you. Ralim, go practice battle strategies for a while, I need to deal with some business with Anakin." I say as I turn to my Padawan.

"Yes Master." he replies, attaching his own deactivated sabers to his belt and leaving the training room, headed for the library. I then go with Anakin to go talk to the Chancellor, who let's us in and we take a seat as he was currently talking to Master Windu.

"Why are you removing the bounty on the three fugitives?" Chancellor Palpatine asks Master Windu.

"If they're free to move, they could lead us back to Eval's operation." Master Windu replies.

"Very well, keep me upraised. *turns off the holo-communicator* You both look troubled Anakin, Vetera." Chancellor Palpatine says as he turns to face Anakin and I better. I was in my Loth-Wolf form due to being angry, pacing which i did when i was angry and needed to calm down faster than i could with mediation. 

"How can they expect us to just sit here and do nothing with Obi-Wan's murderer on the loose?!" I ask as i pace, a growl in my tone due to my high emotions right now.

"It is possible that they do not trust you to control your feelings." he replies as Anakin gets up and looks out the window slightly and i walk over to join him.

"Hardeen killed my Master, my best friend! And now he's escaping with Cad Bane and Moralo Eval and the Jedi Council won't do anything about it!" Anakin says and I snarl in agreement, shutting my eyes to try to calm down.

"I have it from a reliable source that the fugitives were last headed towards Nal Hutta. You cannot deny your feelings Anakin, Vetera. They are what make you special. If you both believe you can stop this plot against me, I trust you both." Chancellor Palpatine says and I am grateful he shared this information with us.

"Thank you, Chancellor." I say to him sincerely, now we can go after Hardeen and pay him back for what he did to Obi-Wan.

"You won't regret this." Anakin agrees with me before we both run out of there.

"Should I bring Ralim with us?" I ask him as we run, heading towards our speeder so we can return to the temple.

"We'll need all the help we can get. You get Ralim, I'll get Ahsoka and we'll meet in the hanger to get the ship." He replies as we keep running.
