Vetera's POV
Ralim and I begin prepping for the trip to Corusant and our mission to protect the Chancellor, before we go to the briefing with the Council to finalize our plan to protect the Chancellor and hopefully get Obi-Wan out safely.
"As you can see, we've mapped the Chancellor's route to and from the festival's stage. We'll know where he'll be every moment from the time we land on Naboo." Master Windu says.
"What security measures are in place?" Master Plo asks him.
"The Naboo Royal Guard will have armed sentries in all entry points of the palace. And the stage itself will be sealed off by a ray shield for the duration of the event." Master Windu says, pointing out each defense on the hologram.
"I see nothing to worry about." Anakin says with his arms crossed.
"Neither do I." I agree, my arms crossed over my chest plate.
"With complacency comes vulnerability, yes. It is what we do not see that concerns me. A long time to plan his attack, Count Dooku has." Master Yoda says as we look at him. We look back at Windu.
"Yes, we thought we'd have an advantage with Obi-Wan on the inside, but we've had no communication from him in days." Master Windu says.
"Obi-Wan will do his part. Let's make sure we do ours." Anakin says as he points that out,
"I agree." I say before he and I left, I felt our Padawans follow us out after a moment. We get the supplies we had prepped for the mission and meet up at the ship that would take the Chancellor to Naboo before we get inside and get going.
On Naboo
We had arrived and exit the ship. The Queen bows her head to the Chancellor.
"Greetings your Majesty." the Chancellor greets the Queen, before Padme steps forward to greet him,
"Welcome home, Chancellor. I'm thankful to the Jedi for bringing you here, safely." Padme says as she smiles.
"Yes, Senator. It is good to be back, although I think the amount of security that has accompanied me is...overkill." the Chancellor replies as he uses his arm to motion to us.
"With all due respect, Chancellor, where your safety is concerned, there is no such thing as overkill." Master Windu points out and while I agree with that point, I think he could have worded it a bit better.
"So you keep insisting, Master Jedi. But i have grown tired of discussing it." the Chancellor replies, before beginning to walk away.
"Anakin, Ahsoka, Vetera and Ralim, welcome to the Festival." Padme welcomes us, making me smile and i bow my head in thanks before we walk with her as the Padawans look around.
"I've never seen the Festival of Light." Ahsoka says.
"Me neither." Ralim agrees.
"Sounds like a big event." she says and he nods in agreement, before Anakin turns to talk to them.
"They're expecting a large crowd, which means it will be difficult for Dooku to attack during the ceremony. That leaves the palace as the best opportunity for an ambush." Anakin says as we keep walking and I roll my eyes slightly under my helmet.
"Are you that certain an attack is imminent?" Padme asks in worry.
"We're afraid so." I reply as I turn my head to look at her as I talk.
