Ebony practically dragged Amanda across the entire mall. When Ebony told her mom that her best friend needed an outfit for the dance, she was happy to help.
Ebony's mom decided to do some shopping of her own, trusting that the two girls were responsible enough to watch over themselves.
"EBONY! I'm going to trip and fall if you don't slow down!" Amanda shouted.
"EEEE! I CAN'T HELP IT!" Ebony shouted back.
Ebony suddenly stopped, making Amanda crash into her back. As Amanda let out a groan, Ebony spun around and grabbed her by her shoulders, "I've always wanted to do this with you! Go shopping with my best friend!"
Amanda gave a sad expression at her words, "If you wanted me to go to the mall with you, you could've just asked. I would have said yes."
"I know, but, it's more than shopping for fun. It's shopping for a dance!" Ebony bounced.
Amanda sighed, "I owe your mother for this. Is there a budget we need to follow?"
Ebony pondered and responded, "I don't know. She just said to bring what we want to purchase, and she will pay for it. Knowing mom, she'd probably want us to stay under a hundred dollars."
"Well, we should probably ask-"
Ebony interrupted Amanda by pulling her to the women's dresses selection. Ebony started to admire all of the clothes on the rack. Amanda audibly sighed and went to investigate on her own.
'Too big, too small, too exposing, too short.'
Amanda wasn't good at picking dresses out of all types of apparel, but she had to try.
After looking at all of the outfits from the section of the mall, one dress caught her attention.
The glittering, sleeveless dress possessed a pink carnation color to it. The top of the silky outfit had thin, slightly transparent fabric with designs on the upper half to match with the bottom composition.
Amanda ended up adoring the gown, which brought Ebony towards her, "Do you like it?"
Amanda glanced at her and smiled, "It's pretty..."
Ebony unveiled a bright smile, "Good! You are supposed to feel pretty when you wear the dress. This dance isn't just about Cupid; it's about you too. You should be comfortable and enjoy the night."
Amanda said no words, but a bright smile was enough. She would never have thought that she would be happy over a dress.
Amanda's smile faltered a bit, "Well, this is nice, but I am going to need more than a dress for Cupid's attire. I don't want to use the mask idea that you suggested. It would be too out of the ordinary."
"Alright then! We need accessories, some new shoes, maybe some face paint, and how about a bit of dye and hair extensions?"
"Uh, paint? Dye? Extensions? My parents would kill me."
Ebony pointed at her scarlet colored hair, "My hair color is made from a perishable dye product; it is a temporary dye powder cake. All you have to do is shower with shampoo, and it comes right off. I have tons at home that you can borrow. I also have extensions at my house, and we could visit a makeup store for convenience."
Amanda was amazed and chucked, "Are we doing this; going this far?"
"I'm your friend, Amy. Of course, you are going to go far," Ebony stated matter-of-factly. "Let's split up, okay? How about you look for shoes, and I look for accessories?"
Amanda nodded, "Okay."

"Which shade of red would I look more tempting while I wear it? This one," Caitlyn held a wine dress in front of her, "or this one?" She held a ruby dress in front of her.
